Should I Become A Vegetarian??!
Should I Become A Vegetarian??
I LOVE animals and HATE they way they are slaughtered. Everyone thinks I should become a vegetraian. I want to, but i do love my meat. Is there any health benefits to not eating meat?
Answers:
There are loads of health benefits to not eating meat. It is full of growth hormones, steroids, and antibiotics, because the animals are kept in such horrid conditions that they get diseased. It also has blood, pus, urine, feces, parasites, and bacteria. It really makes no sense. I used to love it too, and if anyone had ever told me I would be a vegetarian, I would have laughed them into the next country. But, after developing food allergies, I started doing some research and learned the truth about how unsanitary it really is. If you look at a package of meat, it comes with a warning label about proper handling-I dont want to eat anything that has a warning label! lol. I have been veggie for over 3 years now, and I love it. I feel much better, and my health issues have gone away completely. I no longer crave meat or miss the taste-in fact I am repulsed by it and wont even walk past the meat counter in the store. Give it a whirl! Think of this if you love animals....would you eat a cat, a dog, or a parrot? So why is a cow, a pig or a chicken any different? Good luck to you. * Good Luck try substitute meat ?*
good luck to you...being a half vegetarian(onli eat vege on an occasions) to me seems healthy.
I'm a vegitarian and i am just as healthy as my friends as long as you take suppliments for iron and other nessesary nutrients you will be fine.
There are more vegitarians by the day and some feel healthier because of it but it all depends on what non meat foods you chose to eat .
Hope this helps : ]
Loads of health benefits from not eating meat. The less I eat it, the less I want it. It really becomes down right disgusting.
yes you will die earlier if you eat meat because of all that fat and it gets clogged in your ribs and you get clots of fat and you die from heart attack or you could from something else if you love meat only eat it once a month or once a week
its all up to you. Vegetarians often quote health benefits they have, and in fact a good bit of them are true. Honestly i believe in finding a proper balance with meat, vegetables, grains etc. Remember though vegetarians may appear healthy, they arent always, even though they may be thin. Also beware, go and look into a vegetarians cupboard, chances are it will be full of supplements, not as "natural" as one may like to think
if u love meat eat it!
Yes, there are lots of benefits to not eating meat. But you still need a varied diet. don't just substitute meat for some fake meat.
Isn't it a bit selfish to continue to eat meat when you know of, and hate, the treatment of animals. just what do they have to put up with just for your tastebuds ?
Clean break, thats what you need...stop now....
done it ?
good. congratulations.
sazzie is wrong. its a mis-conceptions that you have to take suppliments. I've been veggie for 27 years. Am i dead ? No, so that proves you dont "need" to take suppliments, doesn't it. I'm a fit, healthy arable farmer. I challange you to find anyone healthier.
The more Fruits and Vegetables you eat, the better everything is. I've been a Vegan for 14 years: I look my best now at 38, I play drums better than ever, studying better, sleeping better, lifting weights, ....
We take supplements because we are "in the know" about health. That's why we are Veg. And, a lot of Vegs. had health probs before going veg.
Humans aren't yet evolved(devolved) for meat eating. Some day we will, but think about tigers: who want's to sleep 20 hours a day.
yes there are health benefits. In general, vegetarians have a lower risk of heart disease and cancer. But remember.. if you
cheat [sneak off and eat meat every now and then] - don't say
you are vegetarian.
By the way.. if you read the books "Fast Food Nation",
"Slaughterhouse"... you wouldn't say you "love meat".
When you make a connection between the slaugher and suffering of animals, and the meat on your plate you will lose your appetite and love for the meat. If you still crave it, it means that you still have more to learn about this subject-
Google to find out more about health benefits of vegan diet.
You should definately become a vegitarian. I'm a vegitarian, and I don't miss meat at all. Think about the slaughtering WHILE your eating your hamburger, and see how good it tastes.
Of course there's health benefits. Without meat, you'll have to eat vegetables, and -DUH!- they're healthy!
If you still find yourself missing the taste, try meat substitutes!
Hope I helped,

I don't really eat meat SEMI vegan
Well they say that meat eaters live longer although I believe and know I have more energy and feel better and see changes in skin hair and nails...It feels healthier..
What I did was I started to test my body like
I would eat only meaty things and notice I would get tired after and feel heavy and even get a slight stomach ache...
Then I would try eating veggies and notice I did not feel so drained and still had energy after eating and also not craving after my healthy meals..it seems as though eating only veggies satisfied my nutrition needs to where my body did not crave many sweets or junk anymore in fact I started to not like fatty foods.....I would just try and see how you feel...try for a week DON'T say you can't DO IT only for a week and see how you feel..Then you will know if it's for you....
Try toasting any type of bread you like place sliced zucchini onions garlic (fresh) with cheese on top throw it in the toaster maybe add some pesto....when toasted add tomatoes pepper NO SALT..yum
Granola
Plain yogurt
add fresh blueberry's mango raspberry's or whatever fruit you choose...
a cup of SOY....yum
I never truly appreciated food until i became a vegetarian. I did enjoy eating meat, too much.
When I became a vegetarian I discovered spices, new vegetables, and most of all I discovered true health. I mean I was "healthy," running an average of seven miles a day year-round and feeling fit. Truth is it was a facade, I wasn't as healthy as everyone thought I was.
At the age of 24, a doctor told me to expect a heart attack by the time I turned 28, the age my father had his first one. Family history and my eating habits were lining me up for a big surprise. I had heard that you are 90% less likely to suffer heart disease if vegetarian. So, I quit eating red meat that day. Within two years I was vegetarian, and in another 2 years I was vegan. At 32, the doctors told me I had the heart of a healthy 16 year-old, and that whatever I was doing to keep doing it.
I am close to a vegan diet, I don't use animal products, but if a friend invites me to dinner and serves me cheese or eggs I will eat it.
I try not to be too burdensome. Some may call me a hypocrite but to each their own, this works for me, and my friends. I've always said, "I would do anything for a friend." I guess I am following through with that. BTW - most will cook vegan for me.
meat eaters will say no.
veggie heads will say yes.
do what fells right.
