If you mean 'fennel' - then roast or grill it with other vegetables and serve with marinara sauce and Parmesan cheese
or slice thin and toss with orange sections and red onion and a light vinagrette for a fresh salad
I personally hate it, but our favorite restaurant serves it breaded with the breaded calamari with a remoulade. I just pick it out.
Grilled, Roasted, Baked, Steamed. Try might work.
It's nice cut into quarters, then place it into an oven proof dish and pour a cheese sauce over it and finally sprinkle over a little parmesan cheese and bake in the oven.
It's great raw though, sliced thinly and mixed into a salad, or just on it's own in a fennel salad seasoned with salt, pepper, lemon juice and extra vergin olive oil
I like fennel braised in a little olive oil with garlic and onion. It really brings out the flavor. I make a pasta sauce with it. Its nice with a little cream added to thicken the sauce. I also love it raw in salads and I also use it in stir fries. You can make an easy fennel gratin, by slicing it thin, layering it with onions in a buttered baking dish, and topping it with cheese fresh cream, and breadcrumbs. Then, just bake at 350 for about 30 minutes. Sorry I cant give an exact recipe, but I tend to just chuck stuff in a dish until it looks right. Enjoy!
Being a former chef in Canada it can be cooked any way, used raw or marinated in salad, treat it almost like celery, I used it in main dishes, appetizers, soups and a side veg.
It is the main ingredient in a dish I was making back in the 1980's called "Scampi's in Love a dish with Fennel, Pernod liquer and fresh scampi, one of the signature dishes in 2 of the 5 star hotels I was employed with.
Broiled, Baked and braised is nice, with other veg or alone with garlic, stock and glazed with parmesan cheese.
