Vegan questions?!

Question:

Vegan questions?

I have been vegan for 7 years now. I am trying to do some more research into the topic. So if anybody knows these answers, it would really help. Thanks!

What percentage eggs sold in the US actually come from battery hens?

What percentage of dairy cows are actually harmed?

Answers:
Sorry, but I don't know actual percentages. Battery and factory farm eggs would be in the vast majority.
"Approximately 300 million chickens kept for egg production in the U.S. are confined in battery cages"

And most all dairy cows are actually harmed, some just moreso than others... especially if you realize that veal is a byproduct of the milk industry.
"Every year, hundreds of thousands of calves are confined in crates measuring just two feet wide in order to produce white veal."
Also, dairy cows go to slaughter when they are used up (after a couple of years, far less than their average life span.)

"
Regardless of where they live, however, all dairy cows must give birth in order to begin producing milk. Today, dairy cows are forced to have a calf every year. Like human beings, cows have a nine-month gestation period, and so giving birth every twelve months is physically demanding. The cows are also artificially re-impregnated while they are still lactating from their previous birthing, so their bodies are still producing milk during seven months of their nine-month pregnancy.
