Why is eggs considered veggie food when it turns into an animal when it hatches?
Answers:
It doesnt hatch unless its been fertilized. Its the same as a human womans period-the hen discards it and has no need for it. If it becomes fertilized, the hen will brood on it (sit) until it hatches. A process known as candling is used to tell if an egg is fertilized.
Because the egg has not been well...inseminated. The hen has to bonk the cockral to get eggs with chicks in. I know what you mean though. I like eggs but if you really think about them, they are unpleasent things to eat, just very nice with chips!
maria thats bcause the eggs we eat don hatch into chicks bcoz they come 4m genetically hybrid chickens which keep on layin eggs all the time and which don hatch into chicks
Most eggs that you purchase at the grocery store are unfertilized and cannot grow into a chicken no matter how long you incubate them.
Eggs you buy are not fertilized therefore would never hatch.
That is why I'm vegan. :) Eggs are supposed to be fertilized to give life (like someone already mentioned) but arent, because chickens are kept in cages where they cant move or see the sun, let alone have a possibility to mate. Eating eggs means supporting that cruelty. Also worth remembering: Chickens don't lay eggs for people to eat them, they are just like all species interested in reproducing.
What if someone without asking removed your fetus and said well it's not real life yet? Oh, wait, chickens dont even get an explanation. Sad.
the eggs haven't been fertalized. so no. they have no chance of hatching or becoming anything else. it's just an egg.
Its not considered a veggie food to vegans. Though it can be argued before fertilization no animal is being killed by eating it.
I like gal_D's argument posted above mine. however I think a more accurate argument would be the harvesting of a woman's eggs not her fetus. Theoretically most eggs are not fertilized before being eating.
Though if you wanted farm raised chickens which would be a more compassionate living condition, you would have the risk that the egg would be fertilized and that you would be taking a life by eating the egg. Long advice keep short, just eat vegan as much as you reasonably can.
