Do you think eating non veg is being cruel to animals?!
Do you think eating non veg is being cruel to animals?
i see a lot of animal activists crowding every alternate blue moon near kfc shouting on top of their voice "its cruel to eat animals bla bla" as if we murder them for nothin i think its our food just like other animals on this planet like tigers eat deer ,rabbit,etc..... what is your point of view towards this!!
Answers:
I agree with you. Feeding ourselves is not cruel. Now if we were killing animals to watch them die, or killing them to wear their fur, ... that's a whole nother' story.
I think those people have seen too many Disney movies, which are loaded with anthropomorphism.
I am a vegetarian as I do think it's cruel to eat meat. I don't think we should eat it at all. I wish everyone was a vegetarian. However, every one has a right to eat meat just as I have a right not to eat meat.
no way dude, we are all part of the circle so were just doing what we are supposed to.
How hungry are you?
Humans are omnivores. We eat food from animals and food from plants. This is why we have canines. However, we can survive as vegetarians.
I for one eat food from animals. If people want to be vegetarians then let them, it's their body they can do whatever. However, I can stand those that impose their views and try to make us feel bad about what we're doing. It's natural, it's what we do as humans and I think they should just keep their opinions to themselves.
We must survive as a species right ? A Shark or Polar bear would be eating me, and more of us if it had a complex brain, and an opposing thumb, I won't eat "Veal" though, I don't like it when they kill a baby calf
according to charles darwin theory it si the survial of the fittest...what if u are on a secluded island and there u have nothing else to eat except for animals that ull have to cook...it is obvious u ll eat animals...u wont be on the vegetarian path and u wont die off....everyone wants to survive and u ll eat what is available...it is to maintain the nature's baance...
God put the animals on Earth for us to eat. That's how I think of it. I couldn't live a veg. It would kill me. haha.
I agree. To each his own. Of course reality states that will never happen-live and let live-but it sounds real pretty when I say it. I like Ron White's quote; "I didn't climb to the top of the food chain to eat carrots". Amen!!! Give me my meat and I'll EAT IT!!! Good question!!!
Since I was a little girl I couldn't stand seeing predators catching their prey, although I know it's nature, so yes, I think it's cruel, and nature is cruel!
I haven't seen the PETA videos (I wasn't brave enough to look!) so have no opinion on them, but I've seen chickens bred only to be slaughtered, and believe me, it's horrible enough to take away your appetite for chicken for the rest of your life.
But what's more is that a vegetarian life style is better for your own health and that of the planet. Have a look at this:

As an omnivore, it is not any more cruel for me to eat a cow that has been raised for the purpose of eating it than a cat hunting and eating a mouse. We are predators by nature. If we did not have ranchers and farmers growing our meat for us, we would have to go out and kill it ourselves, a la Ted Nugent.
Unlike tigers and other animals, humans are polluting the enviroment. we owe it to this planet to fix what we broke. Unlike other animals, humans claim ownership of other creatures. (ever seen a bear walk a dog? or milk a cow?)
Unlike other animals humans build slaughterhouses where cows, pigs, chickens, never see the sun or eat natural food, from the day they're born til the day they're slaughtered. It is a short life of suffering.
Their bodies are injected with hormons that make them grow so fast their bones cant keep up, so they break. Chickens wings often dont develop properly in this terrible enviroment, where their natural insticts or individual wishes (concerning groups, territory etc) arent respected.
Unlike other animals, humans cause pain for profit. Unlike other meat-eaters, we DON'T need the meat to survive. You can obtain protein very easily from vegetable sources. Same with calcium. It has been proven, but I guess it is always easier to ignore than make a change on a personal level. (Think of biggest mammals such as elephants that live only on vegan diet. Many animals are vegans, and there is nothing unnutural about it)
Please dont talk about what is natural, and compare humans to animals when we have gone so far in distruction of nature. We are no longer part of it, but we are dictating over it.
You cant possibly mean that this meat-industry driven human world is "natural"?
Check out some vegan sites, and be openminded, if you really want to learn something. Unless of course, you're posting this question just to criticise what you dont understand?
creating mankind itself is cruel to animals, it's cruel to everything. have u ever looked straight into the eyes of a dying animal? have u ever seen an animal being slaughtered?
maybe u have a pet in ur house, a dog or a cat. in some countries, those animals r food. how would u see that?
It's not cruel per se, but if there was less demand for it there would be less animal killing and torturing.
I do think eating non veg is cruel to animals. I will admit though that many people have no idea what life is like for the animals that humans eat. We all picture idealistic farms with lots of fields and roaming animals and nothing could be further from the truth.
There is a video called Meet your Meat that I suggest anyone watch if they are curious where their meat comes from.

I just had to comment on the answer regarding the desert island..
If I was stranded on a desert island and there was just myself and just one animal - I would not kill it. I would find out what it was eating and eat that!
First of all I'd like for Ridhi R to know that Charles Darwin was a vegetarian...and most of us don't live in secluded islands.
And yes you do murder them for nothing. There are plenty of other choices when it comes to food ..you eat animals because you like to not because you need to . The animals you mention "like tigers eat deer ,rabbit ,etc" only take what they need to survive.
We can feed more people in the world on the food that animals, raised as food, eat than we can on the "food" one gets from animals. The amount of vegetable protein fed to the US beef herd would feed almost the entire populations of India and China - two billion people.
Being blissfully ignorant about what's in your food and how it got there can lead to stupid questions such as the one you made here.
It is cruel to eat animals and people such as the heroes standing in front of your precious KFC are responsible for many of the new laws against animal cruelty.
Get used to us we are just getting started.
it's not cruel to eat meat, because as long as you give back to the animals by donating money to endangered animals funds, and are respectful to zoo animals you're fine. You don't even have to do that stuff, you just have to take care of their habitats! Hope this helped!
what ever .. become a vegi then ...
Do you even know why the people are protesting at KFC? Are they trying to close the place down? No,
they want the chickens to have a few extra square inches in their cages. They want the producers to stop kicking the chickens around like footballs and slamming them into walls for fun.
Why KFC? It's the next one in line. They targeted McDonalds first, and now Chickens and eggs there are just a little bit humane.
Next was Burger King, then Wendys.
It's somewhat pathetic that an animal rights group has to step up and campaign so hard for basic animal welfare. The animal welfare groups should be the ones out there.
ya i heard about this , its very sad that there are animal haters who are so cruel to the animals.
Why don't you ask them(KFC protesters)?
And what part of going to a store, and buying meat that has already been killed(and cooked most of the time) natural?
When a tiger eats a smaller animal, he does it to survive, when he kills an animal, IT is natural.
When we eat meat, the meat has already been caught and killed, and cooked. Unless you were starving, and a cow just so happened to be walking by(and you had no other food), Then it could be considered natural...
Humans don't need meat to survive, we can get all of our nutrients from a plant based diet.
Also, it's not like these animals you eat lived happy little lives on a nice, big, pretty farm... They lived their lives cramped in small disgusting places, with thousands of other animals, all cramped in together. They are subjected to torture. And then they are killed painfully. So, Yes, I think that that would be a cruel thing to do to an innocent animal. Especially when we do not need to eat that animal to live healthy lives.
Not exactly.. I mean you ARE eating slaughtered animals.
My view on it, is if you know what's going on in the meat industry, then your mature enough to make a desicion.
If we carnivores do not eat animals, will they go out and cull them before they eat us off the planet.?
