this is a website made by people who want to stop animal cruelty and give animals their rites. It stands for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. It is a real eye-opener. My friend got me onto it and I was shocked at what I read. I am about to start the 30 day trial of being a vegetarian with some of my friends and am really looking forward to it. I urge all to go and read the info on this amazing website, it is very worthwhile and will hopefully change your views on cruelty to animals. Please visit and answer and tell me what you think. I'd love to hear more feedback.

I do support PETA for many reasons. And I am a member. But I do let them know and I write to them about some of my concerns about the organization.
The trial with Ms.Hinkle and Adam is indeed true. They worked for PETA and were sent out in a Van to pick up HEALTHY animals and Euthanized them.In one Vet Center in N.C.,they even promised a Vet that they would get a beautiful and healthy female Black cat with kittens a home.Instead they were fed first, then euthanized. They put in garbage bags and left these animals in other people's garbage disposals too.Not nice.
But let me assure you,www.petakillsanimals.com might inform you about this case, but this site is also against many other grass-roots organizations who are trying to do good for animals AND the planet.
www.petakillsanimals.com and www.activistcash.com also disagrees with people like Mother against Drunk Driving and Greenpeace. It's a site basically founded by a bunch of republican lobbyists in SUPPORT of Consumer products,Guns, tobacco and alcohol corporations. So you cant trust anyone, cant ya?
TRUST NOONE.

look it up.
I'm a vegetarian (not vegan) too, and PLEASE take a closer look at PETA.
They are not all they profess to be.
I no longer support them.
Yes, but keep in mind that they also kill (euthanize) animals on a large scale. Some of their people were caught with syringes and euthanizing drugs.
PETA have some good info, but are sexist. I think we can manage to save animals without all famous women having to pose naked. I'm against exploiting animals, including humans. And there are some other flaws with PETA, just continue reading and you'll see...
But they do have some clips from slaughterhouses, and other info that is useful. PETA was the first site of that kind I found... and it does have some very good ambitions... Luckily there are many animal organisations on the net, so you can look at them too. And I know what you mean, it really is an eyeopener.
It's always nice to see another animal friend. :)
Some parts of the site are useful, but they have some of their priorities wrong. For the street teamers, they get 1000 points for participating in a demo against KFC, but give 500 for handing out fliers in front of a KFC, the latter of which might make some people actually think about what they're eating, instead of making people think all veg*ns are complete idiots, and only fuels the joke PETA: Poorly Educated Teen Activists.
Like Yuck said, although i am a vegetarian, i do not support PETA.
Take a closer look at the things they do, not all of the things they say is true.
perhaps you should check out:
www.petakillsanimals.com
It might give you some new insight into the organization that SOUNDS like a good thing, but that is really out to end ownership of all animals, including our companion animals.
despite peta's actions, please don't let that stop you from trying out vegetarianism (which i don't think has, but just in case!). although i agree with a lot of the things peta preaches about on their site, i have also heard and read of their errors.
i have peta to thank for my instant decision of committing to vegetarianism. i had known for a year [while on an organic diet] that animal meat was not good for my health, but that wasn't enough to convince me.
please check out another video called "earthlings", narrated by joaquin phoenix. you may be able to purchase the movie from peta, but thanks to youtube, you can watch the whole movie there. that documentary shows just how dependent the human race is on animals.
piece of advice: you may encounter negative people. ignore them and continue doing what you're doing. don't let anyone tell you what to do with your body.
good luck on your 30 days!
