What makes humans have the right to rule over animals?!

Question:

What makes humans have the right to rule over animals?

Humans kill and murder animals for food, they torture animals in testing laboratories and in factory farms. How is this morally right in anyway? How would humans feel if some other species decided to take control over us? There are hundreds of reasons why not to eat meat and I can only think of one reason to eat meat (good taste to many people)

Im just wondering why you or someone you know eats meat? (not trying to sound too biased i really would like to learn where people come from when they decide to eat meat and their thoughts on my they will continue to eat it and not be a vegetarian? Thanks

Answers:
See the thing is they don't decide. Most of them are born into this lifestyle and continue to do so without ever truly wondering if it's wrong. To them is just the normal thing to do. Normal of course in the same way that slavery was OK a few century's back.

It's funny that you mention the good old "because it taste good" reason ...I don't see many of them eating it "As Is", what they like is the seasonings they put into it...so this excuse gets debunked right away.

One of the other very popular ones ( and I'm sure you will get this one) is that "God made animals for us to eat them" Which is one of the many reasons I am an atheist , but that's another subject.

And don't forget about the protein excuse, which only goes to show how little they know about nutrition.

Without the meat eaters, we would soon be way lower on the food chain.

I eat meat. I like the taste and it provides protein and other nutrients. As far back in history as there are records or archaeological proof, people have been eating meat. It is natural for us to do so. Some would say that the superior brain power of the average human puts us at the top of the food chain. So with all that brain power, you can choose to eat meat or not. And if you believe you are correct in your choice, you should not care what others think. Go with what works best for you.

Keep finding vegetarian selections and recipes that you like. That's what builds up your strength as a vegetarian--not moral indignation. They didn't decide--you did. A better question for them would be what made them 'decide' to stop eating their vegetables? Just make sure to study nutrition so you can get an optimal diet.

Uh, you are not trying to tell us that you are a natural vegetarian are you? There are very few of them in this world, as most of them are herbivores for spiritual reasons or self control issues.
My father in law has been a vegetarian for 30+ years because of his religion and he would never ask such a silly and offensive question.
We as humans are omnivores by design. Stop judging other people's diets and concentrate on getting the proper nutrition for your own body if you are practicing this extreme form of energy consumption.
You may find the answers you seek...
I was a vegetarian for almost 10 years myself and finally listened to my body. I consume more vegetables in the raw and cooked state more than meats, including fish, but I am a healthy weight and my mind is more clear with a balanced diet. Vitamins and supplements did not work for me...

Contrary to what most people think I believe meat eaters are lower on the food chain. meat is animal not plant. Higher ups need not partake of animal flesh. Without meat eaters this world would likely be Heaven! The Forbidden tree was grown with flesh and when man partook of it man became flesh! If it had not happened then there'd be no death and we'd be in spiritual bodies not flesh bodies! The Garden of Adam and Eve was for pleasure. By partaking of the forbidden tree Gardening became a necessity for the flesh!
The first flesh came about because of who was God's favourite Angel who wanted to be like God and disobeyed God and became flesh. Correct I'm sure unless the Pastors handbook of Bible information is wrong! We do have the right to rule over animals in order to protect them we are not suppose to eat them Genesis 1:29 I have given thee every herb and fruit bearing seed.. let be thy meat! Of the fowl, birds, any hoofed or animal that chewest it's cud thou may not partake of it.. if thou doest thou has made thineself unclean!

Simple....... We have thumbs animals don't

#1 reason; Our brains, is the main reason for your first question. as for the others is to strengthen our teeth, a fast way for protein, iron and energy.

No body can be a true vegan... as long as you live in this world you are killing life. Every living thing has a circle of life, Please research the circle of life.

If you have freedom in America, you know that it wasn't free. in order for us to get it we lost human life. Someone lost their life for us to have the right to choose.

I'm sorry, but animal testing has done wonders for all of us, even the people who are against it...treatments for diabetes, surgical procedures for heart bypasses, etc. We all benefit from animal testing.

Goody2shoes2, since you used a quote from the Bible to show that we are supposed to take care of animals and not eat them, then how do you explain God telling Moses and the Israelites to slaughter a lamb and put it's blood on the doorway AND TO CONSUME THE FLESH? Doesn't make much sense to me that He'd command eating meat if He were against such a thing.
