What is the difference between Soy and Black Soy?


Answers:
Black soy is fermented. It's a condiment, not a food like edamame or soy products or regular soy beans.

It's kinda like soy sauce, except with no wheat in it (like tamari sauce.)

Black bean sauce is a traditional Cantonese sauce with little chunks of black soybeans.

And it's gooo-oood. One of my favorite sauces.

I bet it'd be good with tofu...then you'd have two soys in one dish!

Black Soy Sauce (Siew Dam) It is very dark, almost black, in color and thick like light syrup in consistency. Its flavor is sweet, almost like molasses. A good black soy is made by the Kwong Hung Seng company of Thailand, which uses the dragon fly logo on the front label.
