Vegetarians please!?!

Question:

Vegetarians please!?

Okay so, I've been a vegetarian for a little over a year now. I don't eat anything that's touched or been on the same plate on meat either. What do I do about guys? If I like a guy, and we hang out, and then he wants to kiss me, what do i tell him? wait go brush your teeth? This is a downside =( The reason I put this is this category btw, was because I figured I'd be easier to find you.

Answers:
well actually im a vegetarian too

and its a very interesting question, because i for example dont kiss a girl if she has just smoked a cigarrete (but it have never happened to kiss a girl after she have had meat).

and yea you can ask him to brush because its something important to you.

But you can try to find someone vegetarian better and dont have that problem

Have fun

people eat meat hun, don't be so anal about it. Your going to be off putting to a lot of people if your so strick about your ways.

Besides, do you think plants want to be eaten either.
Meat is good for you, there is nothing wrong with eating it.

live a little, most of the best foods in the world that you can enjoy and experience come from animals

put yourself in his shoes, what if the table were turned, wouldn't it seem a bit excessive of him to ask you to brush you teeth after every time you ate vegtables?

if you can't change, try and find a vegetarian guy to date.

but don't expect anyone to change for you unless you willing to change for them

You need to lighten up hon, or you are going to be alone for a long time. You don't ask someone to brush their teeth just because they ate meat. How would you feel if he asked you to brush yours because you ate onions or garlic? Kissing someone who has eaten meat doesn't mean a thing except that he likes meat.

If I were the guy i'd call you insane. If you made me do that I would drop you in a heart beat. Dont be too bizarre and out there, you wont be able to taste the meat if he ate it.

Ha! Good question!! I have been a vegetarian for 15 years! My husband is a meat eater. If he has eaten meat I will give him a little kiss only - just a peck. Unless he has had a lot to drink in between. He knows and kind of understands this, but not completely. If the guy you like is a good one, then he will understand your ways and beliefs and support you. I have told my husband to brush his teeth if he wants more than a little smooch. He does get annoyed sometimes, but it's either that or nothing at all. Oh well to him! :)

You can also carry around gum, mouth spray, etc if you want. When I first started dating my husband I told him straight up and he stuck around. I guess he thought it was a minor price to pay.

Hmm,, i see your point.. but where do you draw the line?.. at restaurants do you wash their plates first... silverware..?.. what about people touching things and you touching them,, AFTER they touched meat products.. You have to set limits.. and not get caught up in the extremes..
i guess why not date ONLY vegetarians... ?
but still .. what about animal by-product,,
SOOOO many things to think about...

good luck with this:)

ohh wow, umm if it really matters to you that much then maybe you should try to find a guy who is a vegetarian and if not then when you eat together just ask him not to eat meat-I don't know if that'll work it just depends on what the guy is like, if not then you might just want to tell him to pop a mint or you really don't mind that much then go ahead and kiss him.

hope tht helps!

yeah it's like being a non-smoker and being kissed by a smoker or being hetero and being kissed by gay. Might be better to hang out with non-smokers or veges or someone that understands.

Sorry but you sound kind of like hypocrite. You want to be strict but are having difficulty figuring out who it is okay to date.

You have conflicting philosophies. Straighten those out, either you believe in what you are doing or you don't.

If he likes you he will understand your wishes. But don't be afraid to state your beliefs.

The question is, "do you deserve to be respected for having these beliefs?" I think you do.

I am the same way.

However, I've never had that problem.

Try finding more veg guys. But if this guy really likes you, he should respect what you believe in. And maybe that means him not eating meat around you. I've been there.
