Lacto-ovo vegetarians...?!

Question:

Lacto-ovo vegetarians...?

I've recently decided that I would become a lacto-ovo vegetarian. Should I take any vitamin supplements? Any other advice?

Answers:
Just eat a decent, varied diet and you'll be fine. By varied diet I mean exploring the whole wonderful world of food, not just eliminating dead animals from your diet. Protein is in everything except refined sugar, fat, starch etc. so it's not a problem on any good diet! Calcium and iron are readily available in leafy veggies so don't worry about that either. Fruits and vegetables are *loaded* with vitamins so if you're eating veggies vitamins are NOT a problem. Here's a link to help answer any questions you may have:

Vegetarians do not eat fish. A fish eater is a Piscivore. Spread the correct word!

viteman suplements are only necessary if you cant get vitemans that most people get through meat with other stuff. To name a few there are:

A) IRON: you can suplement this with, potato skins, spinach, total cereal, brocoli, cashews, lentils...on the NUTRITION FACTS on packeged food it says how much iron it has in it. Some signs of anemia (iron deficiency) are: being driven to eat ice, get tiered easily, inside eyelids are pale, headaches, and if you get up too fast you get dizy
B) B12: substitute it with soy products, breakfast cereals, dairy products, vegetable stock, margarines...
C)PROTEIN: eggs,, milk, cheese, bread, cereal, vegetables, dry soybeans, peanuts, dry lentils, red beans baked potatoes and cashews

good luck with your vegetarianism

I am a lacto-ovo vegetarian going vegan but I don't take any suppliments but iron. You'll just have to keep your diet balanced and varied then you don't need suppliments.

How can you be a vegetarian when you are still consuming non plant foods? You really aren't a vegetarian. You could say you are not a meat eater though!
