VEGANS!! Please Help Me!!!!?!

Question:

VEGANS!! Please Help Me!!!!?

Hi. I'm 15 years old, and I have been a complete vegetarian since I was 10 (no meat, poultry, gelatin, and other by-products). Two years ago I decided to become a vegan, but my doctor told my parents that I was too young, so they didn't let me. As a strong animal rights activist, I feel like a hypocrite eating dairy products, since I'm aware of the extreme abuse of dairy-producing animals on factory farms. I've decided to become a vegan again, but I was looking at a list of what they can't eat, and it's overwhelming! What can I eat as a substitute for cheese, milk, eggs, etc.?

Answers:

tofu and soy products

maybe modified milk in chocolate and such, and calcium tablets. i don't know about eggs and cheese though, sorry!!

i am 14 and i was allowed to become vegan at 11 and the doctor said nothing to me you could buy fake cheeses and soya milk it is nice
good luck

cheese- they have vegan cheeses, follow your heart is good.

For mac and cheese style cheese, go to http://chreese.com or look for Roads End Organics products. It's pretty good.

For milk, soy rice or almond milk

for eggs-
baking- use EnerG egg replacr
for scrambled- use tofu

There are vegan analogues for almost everything, but if your favorite food is Angel Food Cake, you're going to be out of luck.

Also there's tons of other foods to try, look at the recipes on http://www.vegweb.com and give some a try.

The analogues are good for transition, but there are so many other possibilities to try you will eventually not need them or miss them.

sorry to say this ,but you are sick person for not eating meat or chicken or fish. you do not have the nutrients you Buddy neat.and in time you going to loos you Mosul's and get very sick, stop to do this to your buddy,

Perhaps you could find a happy compromise, like I did. Check to see if there is a local dairy farm or food co op where you can buy milk from pampered cows-I liked it so much I invested in my own cow!! Then, you can also churn the fresh cream into butter, and learn to make homemade cheese-or buy cheese from the dairy or co op. That way, you are not contributing to the mistreatment of animals, and will be pleasing your parents and doctor. Good luck! Email me if you need further info.

i' m vegirarian 2, have been since i was 12, im 13 OK not that long but i'm finding it 1/10 hard, i think that you are too young aswell, but if it's something you find cruel and believ that you shouldn't eat it dont let your parent stop you OK heres a list of things you could eat .................... Fruit and veg are the best and the healthyisht option =D ooh and you cant go wrong with chocolate revels lol :P did you know you cant wear woolly jumpers wear leather bags and sit on leather sofas - wierd huh? you probably knew that but i felt like saying. good luck with finding something that suits - but it will be hard! xx

i am 11 and i am a complete vegetarian and my parents said i could not become a vegan but some of my friends are vegans and they eat a lot of soy and tofu products.
and since my parentsarent letting me become one,I eat organic milk, cheese and eggs.

I found rice milk to be the best replacement for milk. No one is too young to be vegan! People raise their children as vegans. Get some information to show to your parents and doctor about veganism. Peta has a lot of good info and they also have a site specifically for teens. Try it out. Good luck...oh and as for cheese, they make tofu cheese, i just don't like it!

My 10 year old sons are vegan. If a doctor ever told me that they were too young, my first step would be to find them a new doctor.
My boys are extremely healthy and don't miss any animal products. They too decided that they just couldn't eat it any more.
As a teen, I would recommend getting adequate protein, first and foremost. Soy products, nuts and avocados are great for that.
As a replacement for milk, try soy milk, of course. To substitute eggs, enerG egg replacer works great in recipes. Cheese can be replaced by either vegan cheese (check the labels) or nutritional yeast.
Also, I tell my boys that what they are doing is a wonderful decision, but that if they 'slip up' and eat something with butter or something, then it will help them to be more cautious next time.
Many ppl go vegan cold turkey, so to speak, while others need to ease into it. Do what is best for you.
Good luck.
