hey, im an ovo lacto vegetarian and ive always known that gelatin was a non vegetarian but i only recently looked into it and JEEZ do a lot of foods have gelain in them!!! i would appreciate an as detailed list as you can give me with foods with gelatin in them!! and also i am wondering if there is any other words you can look for under "ingredients" that also indicate that it has gelatine in it. And one more thing,i know that this is a streatch, but i live in costa rica so if you by any chance know the way to say gelatine and any other of the words i might find under ingredients that have gelatine in them in spanish, that would help me so much

Well lots of candies so unfortunately. Some that I know of are Starbursts and skittles. Also, marshmallows have gelatin in them. Frosted shredded wheat and Pop Tarts also have gelatin in them.

I have found the only way is to check all ingredients on everything I buy. Even in fresh bakery items gelatin is used, sweets, some spreads , yoghurts,and even vegetarian products unless stated vegan . It is time consuming but worth while.
As said before, it would be impossible to list all foods containing gelatine, especially as sometimes it is only a particular brand of a food that contains it. I'm afraid it is indeed a case of reading the ingredients list very carefully on everything you buy.
Spanish translation for useful non-veggie things:
Gelatine = Gelatina
Rennet = Cuajo
Cochineal = Cochinilla
I dont know of a list, but its in a lot of things-pop tarts, pastries, gummy candies, lolipops, ice cream, some yogurt,-really the only thing to do would be read labels for ingredients-google for info on the spanish word, and check labels accordingly. Its also common in hair gel, shampoo, toothpaste, mascara, makeup, etc. I make everything homemade to avoid questionable ingredients, including my own cosmetics.
Most candies and items with frosting contain gelatin. This includes pastries.
