Are humans really that cruel?!

Question:

Are humans really that cruel?

Our body is made to digest vegatables and not meat. Our teeth and molars are not used to chew meat but to chomp up veggies. In fact, even veggies are not safe anymore as we are spraying incesticide and chemicals on it. Chickens are other poultry animals are also fattened up by injections. Is this really to our benefit? G.M food is understandable though. What's more, we even eat dogs, cockroaches and other little animals like elphants, tiger and cats. Arent we being too greedy? Please give your comments!!

I'm a vegetarian but It is obvious that we are naturally omnivores. We cannot get B12 from any other source. B12 is essential for our survival. If we were naturally herbivores, we wouldn't need it. You either need meat or an animal product to get it.

yes its sick. it takes a low person to be cruel to animals

We're evolving within our species, so we eat all sorts of things to survive. Our teeth and digestive system are built for both meat and vegetables. Our appendix is mostly useless and was supposed to digest the cellulose from plants.

If you want to see cruelty, watch that series Planet Earth. To watch cute little seals savage cute little penguins is very eye-opening. It was hard to watch, but that's nature.

Humans are incredibly gentle in comparison to the other creatures on this planet.

And how could survival be a "greedy" thing anyway ? If that's the case then the animals are the greediest of all.

Did you say you eat dogs and cockroaches ??

What country do you live in ? That's considered gross in the US.

I don't eat cats and cockroaches and elephants and tigers and dogs, what are you talking about?

naw... who told you that our teeth are used to chomp veggies? obviously you need to look your school biology-anatomy book again. read carefully that we have several (i think i should open that book too, coz i forgot the sum) sharp teeth for slashing meet. i don't know who or what culture you refer to eating those animals.. but certain culture consider eating certain animal as an honor, or as a cure for a disease etc.. i myself, would never eat cockroach, cat, dog, elephant that you mention, but if i had to, like when there's nothing else that i could eat, maybe i would.
so, it's not for you or me or anyone else to judge that we are greedy or not. from your perspective, you might think of it as greed, but have you tried to look from other perspective?
if you are referring to some loaded money people who do it for fun/prestige, then i agree if you call it as greedy.
but if you are referring to some culture who eat bat to cure their sickness, or to a plan crashed in the desert survivors who eat, say, scorpion or may be the dead, to live .. than why should we call them greedy?

Nyet. Humans are merely apathetic and selfish in general with regards to eating animals. Most people at least eat animal byproducts so it's the social norm (heaven forbid people go against that), the majority of restaurants in the world serve meat so even if you eat vegetarian and the restaurant has supposedly vegetarian meals they're still prepared in the same place that cow corpses are chopped up, most people don't cook all or even most of their own meals so they end out eating what other people (who broadly eat meat) prepare, and of course whether or not animals are truly tastier than anything else meat has been the centerpiece of meals throughout the history of european cuisine (and a notable player in all others) and only recently have vegan substitutes or alternatives been available. hmm as a side note catching animals has always been instant gratification compared to growing crops. I watched a show on crabbing and they basically just pick up thousands of crabs at a time as opposed to having to wait around months to harvest a crop.

By the way I happen to be vegetarian, but I made the switch mostly for health reasons since I grew up in a cattle town. Which reminds me: they call it "inhuman" for a reason.

STOP EATING MEAT TODAY!!!!
