Veggie question chosen as "best" answer?!
Veggie question chosen as "best" answer?
Yahoo, once again, do veggies a dis-service.
I notice they have chosen to highlight a veggie question about protien and the "best answer" says we need to all eat powered protien from health food shops
ARRRH
whats wrong with these people.
If they don't know about veggie diets, why comment on them. If Yahoo know nothing of the topic, why choose it as an example of a good question/answer.
I'm off to the pub now, i'm done with my computer today
cheers !
Answers:
yes, I love getting advice from the totally uninformed. I wish they wouldnt answer questions they know nothing about. I know squat about fixing cars, so I stay out of the automotive section. The blind leading the blind, followed by the uninformed. Have a nice time at the pub. Lord, I miss my beloved England.........
rant over? good, enjoy a nice pint
as long as you get enough protein from other foods there isnt a problem
There, there. I've given you a nice yellow (special veggie colour) to make you feel better.
p.s. have a drink for me.
enjoy your beer , is there protein in that ????????????
have a pint for me
yes yes we do really, lots of people are obuse and not healthy. But what the heck! Have a good time! :)
Ugh, I now the feeling. I wish you would have made a link.
The other day I answered a question where, after receiving a plethora of credible vegetarian sources, the mother decided to feed her teenage daughter (purposely) enough protein per day to sustain a 300+ lb (136+kg)adult because she was "athletic."
I guess she needed the extra 60 grams of protein per day to get through basketball practice. I am sincerely hoping that question never gets shown to the general public.
:)
And because that lady *probably* was not force-feeding her daughter 100 grams of protein before she became veg, if the daughter gets sick (or really, really overweight) it will be another misinformed tale of woe on the evils of vegetarianism.
stress head you worry too much.
I totally agree ,and dont forget to have a drink no have a few drinks on me . cheers mate .
I have to agree because my girlfriend can not eat those protein shake things as they have animal products in them, but she does eat lots off seeds and nuts which contain high amounts of protein.
If anybody knows of a veggie friendly protein shake please could you e-mail me.
who chose the 'best answer, the poster or did it go to votes!! If it went to vote then people just vote for themselves
Enjoy your pint, its a lovely day to have off work
I totally agree with you.
i love a nice carrot.
What else can anyone say about yahoo without them putting you in violation? Whoever it is that is at the other end marking up these questions must im sorry to say but be totally ANALLY RETENTATIVE?
I agree, enjoy your pint, have one for me I have to work till 5
Most animals make a noise when they are killed but what about the poor victims of humanity with no voice at all such as broccoli, fruit that didn't ever expect to be burnt alive (such as strawberries murdered in the process of jam making) or oxygen producing trees cut down and turned into propaganda leaflets by eco and 'green' groups?
And don't talk to me about recycled paper, only 50% is made from used paper.
Yes and don't talk about recycling the biggest con of all times and the main cause of fly tipping by us lazy humans.
Enjoy your pint...my man is as jealous as veggie burger.
what is with you veggies and dire need for attention? If you're a veggie- fine, whatever. But dont start making a fuss about it. Theres nothing i hate more than a veggie looking at your steak with disgust. YES I LIKE STEAK! No surprise there. I dont know anything about vegeterian diets and frankly dont care to. Thnx
Where else would you get essential animal protein from?Plant protein is NOT the same.Humans are meant to be omnivorous..Just check your teeth.
I'm glad to see you have got that little rant of your chest!!
Becuase they're weird.
as long as you get enough protein
Its just the internet man, dont take it too seriously.
"but where do you get your protein from?"
haha i am soooo sick of this question, being a veg myself.
If you look at fake meat sausages, burgers etc. there is usually more protein in these than in meat ones. There is also a lot less fat in them.
I had a friend (had) who was a veggie person, no meat aarrhhh, freak out. But one day I asked how she knows the fresh living lettuce she was hearty cutting through was not screaming. Vegetables are alive too.
Sorry just had to mention this,
Yes It does make you mad. My Parents think that they know it all and tell people that its just for fashion. I've even heard them say it in front of me!
I say I'm Vegetarian but occasionally I eat Fish, which apparently makes me a Piscatarian and have been for many years.
I have an intolerance for Dairy, so I don't drink milk, but
I don't take any supplements and work in the Building Industry. My wife is a Trainee Dietitian and so makes sure that I stick to my 5 a day of fruit.
According to my Doctor and my BMI, I could loose half a Kilo in weight but otherwise I'm in perfect health (I think my excess weight is down to the odd glass of Red Wine!).
When I first stopped eating Meat, everyone went on about supplements and nutrient shakes, but that's not my style so I didn't bother. Instead I just eat healthy amounts of food stuffs that provide alternative supplies of Iron and Vitamins found in Meat. I now actually like spinach and Broccoli and always opt for Organic.
Whilst on the subject of Organic, Heinz make an Organic Tomato Ketchup. It contains less Salt and Sugar, but it actually tastes more of tomato.
Quarn is a form of Mushroom Protein. Pound for pound it has a much higher Nutritional Content and its more readily available for the body to use as a source of energy than Protein from meat.
It's not Yahoo that chooses the 'best answer' that is decided by the people who choose to vote on the answers.
The answers are only as good as the people that give them. Generally, it is the 'empty vessels that make the most noise.' People who really know anything will probably not be here in the first place! They don't need to come here to ask questions and they probably would not think to come here just to give answers.
It's mostly people like me that might know a bit and definitely don't know a lot that tend to play here. So please don't rely on answers you get here, they could be totally bogus!
As for powdered protein you sum it up nicely ' Arrrh'.
I have studied nutrition and in my humble opinion protein from such sources as meat, and dairy are very over rated. Ounce for ounce there is more protein in nuts and pulses than meat or dairy!
Soya protein is OK , but why take it as powder? It makes pretty good veggie sausages, burgers and even bogus bacon, so why not enjoy it like that?
Not that you need it at all; protein is in every vegetable anyway.
High protein sources (traditionally meat and dairy) like soya products are useful for children still growing. It's important that babies get milk, but mother's is best!
Look at nature; do you see any creature taking the milk of other species any where? No, it's not natural! Only humans do it, as only humans do so much that is against nature!
People are scared of vegetarians because they don't understand how someone can not eat meat, that's just a lack of education, don't get too stressed about it, you eat what you like!!
im down the pub too having a nice meal in a glass "guinness"
