Do vegetable oils cause imperfections?!
Do vegetable oils cause imperfections?
I have been mixing vegetable oil with garlic and lime juice to make a salad dressing for my salads. Since I have switched to a vegetarian diet, I have been eating more salads.
However, I have noticed more zits. I read online that vegetable oil can contribute to zits, is this true?
Also, it is okay to pop them? I try not to pop them, but sometime they hurt and I bust them just to relieve the pain. It makes a tiny scab where I bust them and it actually ends up looking worse than the white cap mountain.

you are right,
We live in Veganville, like you, and its astonishing how poor the complexion of ALL the residents is.
I personally blame it on thier lack of sunshine, so weak , so pale, unable to get out of bed.
Oh no, wait, thats bollocks, sorry.
Have you increased your caffeine intake? That is what you should be looking at. Oils should not cause the skin problems.

Nothing you put in your body causes acne, (but can possible cause an allergic outbreak if you are allergic) - only things you put on the outside of your skin causes acne, possibly you have clogged pores, or since you have stopped eating meat, your body is cleansing it's self from the added hormones that meat provides - they inject meat with growth hormones, when you eat the meat, you ingest those hormones - your body may just be getting rid of the impurity's.
But one thing, veg, oil is not very healthy for you, it contains lots of fat you don't need - why not move on to a healthier oil, like olive oil - olive oil is wonderful for your body and skin - you can actually cleanse your skin with olive oil - just put a little in your palm, add hot water and rub, and it will make a tiny bit of later, rub it on your skin, and rinse with warm water - oil cuts oil, so your skin will be clean & smooth.
Also to help you have a clear complextion try adding avacados and oatmeal and vinegar to your diet all three promote cleansing of you intestines and colon - so you move the impuritys out faster
Switch to Extra Virgin Olive Oil. It is far better quality than vegetable oil and much better suited for salad dressings (although a bit more expensive). You could also try Grape seed oil.
I've heard that change of diet can cause spots but its only temporary!
Generally, oils are good for your skin and hair. People who cut all fats out of their diet find that their hair and skin start to dry out.
However, I would also recommend changing to extra virgin olive oil. Tastes great as well as being better for you. I can also recommend flax oil as a dressing (don't cook with it, it's only good for drizzling over things).
Keep an eye on your skincare regime, try not to use oily cleansers or moisturisers. Oils are far better if they work from the inside out.
Oh, and make sure you drink the minimum 2 litres of water a day. It always amazes me how much difference it can make.
PS - I've been reporting that Jessica R every time I see one of the responses, but so far it doesn't seem to be having any effect. Please, everyone report it and maybe we'll get her/him/it banned.
if its soybean vegetable oil, yes, it can cause zits. Try light olive oil, saflower or sunflower oil instead.
Bacteria causes zits.
A common effect of beginning a vegetarian diet is a "cleansing" process. This my be what is responsible for your acne. It should pass. Wile I probably use more olive oil than I should, I've never experienced anything like this.
Steam your spots foxie or take a hot shower and this may pop them -don't squeeze !!! They are part of the detox process as well as your poop smelling like Gillian McKeith's handbag whilst your body flushes out all of the nasties. You may get a runny nose to or pass wind more frequently whilst you adjust. Where are your spots? Chin spots are a sure sign of detoxing.
Nice one gayboy. They are still falling for it! But I'm watching. Still waiting for the watchdog. Bite your **** did it?
