Is PETA aginst eating meat? Are they all vegetarians?!

Question:

Is PETA aginst eating meat? Are they all vegetarians?

I knew they were against the unethical treatment of animals, but I've never heard if they think it's unethical to use animals as food.

Answers:
Naturally, they can't personally investigate all of their members' diets, but they do promote a vegan lifestyle. I have visited the headquarters and can report that the staff is vegan and that there is no non-vegan food (or animal-tested cleaning products) int he building.

I was there for a two-day interview in 2000.

I'm pretty sure they're all vegetarians

I think they are:

Not all members of PETA are vegetarians;however, PETA does not condone meat and their official stance IS that the eating of animals is unethical. Their slogans include - Animals are not ours to eat - Animals are not ours to use for entertainment, etc. They're animal-rights activists, not animal welfare activists. They believe that animals have interests exclusive of human benenifit and that it is not a human's place to 'use' an animal - for anything- in a way that doesn't benefit the animal. I happen to agree!

PETA as an organization promotes a vegan lifestyle, be it food or clothing. Anyone can join, so I'm sure there are meat eaters among them, or at least people who don't follow such a strict diet.

Well, we are supporters of PETA (People Eating Tasty Animals).
