Here's a little link concerning teens and vegetarianism with some references to books that would be helpful.

Here is a news article (I guess it's recent) concerning vegetarian teens.

Heres a realllly good chilli recipe... all the meat-eaters i know who have eaten it says it great!

You might want to double the recipe if its for six people.

1 16oz can kidney beans
1 16oz can black beans
1 24oz can whole or diced tomatoes
1 medium onion
1-2 cloves garlic
1/3 cup of frozen yellow corn
1/2 of a bell pepper (optional)
3-4 tablespoons chilli powder
1-2 teaspoons oregano
salt to taste
Extra garlic powder and paprika (add if you want a extra kick)
Canola or Olive oil

Chop onion and mince garlic. Saute until translucent in medium saucepan with oil. While sauteing add half of the chilli powder to onion/garlic mix. If you are using pepper, add and saute. Drain beans and add along with tomatoes and corn. Cook for 1 minute and then add the rest of the spices. Let cook for another 20-30 minutes (or until everything is cooked) and serve. You can top it with raw onion and cheese.

Hope this helps! :)

Your mom probably thinks that because you are a teenager, you'll change your mind and move on soon. To prove to her that you are serious, buy a book (with your own money) about vegetarianism, if you do research, your mom will see that you are serious. Being a vegetarian is more than not eating animals because it's cruel, it's about health, it's about the environment. Check out these sites, show your mom. goveg.com peta.org

ABout the meal, morningstar is the best burger brand. Mushroom lovers and veggie are great. THeir hotdogs, corn dogs and chicken nuggets are great too. I actually did this for my family, they loved it.

Plus your mom can't MAKE you eat anything. Stay strong but informed.
