Do carrots really turn your skin orange if you eat too much of them?
Answers:
No they don't. Carrots=yummy!
Yep! As do sweet potato's. I learned this when my son was a baby. I actually took him to the Dr because I thought something was wrong. Dr. got a list of his fave foods......sweet potato's and carrots......and made a easy $60.00 off me!
maybe, but you have to eat a whole lot of them.
yes
Yes, it has something to do with too much of a vitamin in your bloodstream or skin cells or something.. heard it in my science class, but can't remember. :)
But it takes a lot of carrots to do that.
Yes it is true. I have heard of my friend's dad have his skin turn a slight orange because of all the carrots he ate.
Yes. It's the beta carotine in carrots.
No That seems like one of those fake things that people say just to get you to freak out. It MIGHT be true but I don't think so. I eat carrots ALL the time, and it's never happened to me. If someone were to look at me and say my skin looks different, it's probably because I'm a little tan.
Yes, they do. Your body's ability to store vitamin A over a short time is limited. One carrot (7 1/2" long) has 2025 RE of vitamin A, which is 203% of your Daily Value. If you eat more - it will show up as an orange tint on your skin.
Yes it does due to the beta caratine in the carrots - most people will notice the orange in their hands.
The girl from the partridge family TV show suffered from anorexia and she basically lived off of carrots - the makeup people had a hard time covering up her orange face!!
Anything with a large amount of beta carotene will do that, including carrots. In part, it's because beta carotene is a fat-soluble moleculre, so it gets stored in the body.

Interesting question. I don't have an answer, I'm just looking at the ones you got. Quite a variety, I must say. Good arguments both ways. Have fun picking the best.
LoL'' are you a kid'' crazy''''
yes
Honest, they really do. But it takes a LOT.
Yes, it's completely true.
Yes it is possible like i have a pet guinea pig and his lips used to be a pinkish color but from all of the carrots he eats from time to time they turn an orange color and so do his paws.
A few years ago, our family drank carrot/celery juice once a day. My husband must have been more sensitive than the rest of us, b/c his skin turned orange - it kind of looked like a tan, but a little bit oranger!
Sure do. That happened to me when I was little. Carrots have always been my fav.
