A vegan doesn't eat or use any animal products. It isn't always necessarily healthier, but vegetarians on average are healthier and have lower rates of heart disease, type II diabetes, lower rates of hypertension and higher levels of antioxdiants and phytochemicals. It is easier to lose weight on a vegan because vegan diets are have a higher intake of fruits and veggies, which are low in calories(read the book "Eat More,Weigh Less" if you want to take that approach towards weight loss).

"It is the position of the American Dietetic Association and Dietitians of Canada that appropriately planned vegetarian diets are healthful, nutritionally adequate and provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases."

"Well-planned vegan and other types of vegetarian diets are appropriate for all stages of the life cycle, including during pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood and adolescence. Vegetarian diets offer a number of nutritional benefits, including lower levels of saturated fat, cholesterol, and animal protein as well as higher levels of carbohydrates, fiber, magnesium, potassium, folate, and antioxidants such as vitamins C and E and phytochemicals. Vegetarians have been reported to have lower body mass indices than nonvegetarians, as well as lower rates of death from ischemic heart disease; vegetarians also show lower blood cholesterol levels; lower blood pressure; and lower rates of hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and prostate and colon cancer."

Vegetarians do not eat meat(also lard, gelatin,or cheese made with rennet)

It's short for vegetarian.

some1 who doesnt eat meat? or anythign that comes from animals

A vegan is a extreme vegetarian who doesn't eat anything related to animals. No milk, eggs, or ice cream. It would help you loose weight but there would be very little protein in you diet.

vegans are strict vegetarians. they dont eat meat or any animal products of any kind. no dairy foods or any foods that have dairy in them. no protein in their diets from food but you can get them from beans and nuts

Vegans don't eat anything that came from an animal. They only eat non animal foods.

Health benefits are one of the main reasons why everyone should become a vegan. The primary benefits are: weight loss, lower cholesterol and blood pressure, less use of medication, avoiding surgery and cancer, feeling more energized, and looking great. You just dont eat animal products.

A vegan is someone who does not eat any meat, or anything that has come from a living thing. Such as eggs. They do not eat processed food, such as white flour. Everything must be organic and natural. They do not eat fish or any types of meat. They won't eat anything that contains an animal by-product. Say something had chicken broth in it - they cannot eat that. It is a very strict vegetarian diet.

Vegan it's NOT short for vegatiran
it's a person who don't use , wear , eat any animal products
and yes u do lose weight.
I eat fries everyday and unhealthy food and i lost 10 pounds for being a veggie

Vegan is no animal products at all. It is healthier for you and the planet (unless you just eat potato chips all the time). Do it for the ethical reasons. Go to a website like PETA and watch some videos. (I hate PETA, but they admittedly have good footage of cruelty in animal industries.) If you do it to lose weight, you won't stick with it. It will be just like a fad diet and there would be no point. If it is a conviction, you will never go back and you will be healthier for life.

Good luck!
