Since when is milk and cheese a natural food to eat?!

Question:

Since when is milk and cheese a natural food to eat?

"Vegetarian diets that include milk/egg are healthy. The vegan diet is decidedly unnatural and unhealthy. But, such Earth Muffin fads are sorta like Nature's way of adding a little extra chlorine to the gene pool, if you know what I mean." --yahoo user

i'm not necessarily saying a little bit once in a while is bad, but how exactly is milk and cheese a natural food for humans to eat??milk's for calf's and cheese isn't exactly natural!

Answers:
Natural means non-synthetic and occuring in nature. Cheese is usually processed- it doesn't occur in nature. But the process by which we make cheese is natural in that you don't have to grow it in a lab.

Milk on the other hand is perfectly natural. It comes straight out of the cow and humans can drink it that way without altering it at all. Our milk nowadays is pasteurized, but that's to keep it fresh as it travels long distances. If you had a cow, you could drink it straight from the cow (although you really ought to boil it first). There is nothing synthetic or processed or added to it. It's natural.

What you meant to say (I think) is that it isn't originally meant for humans. The cow has milk to feed her calf. This is true, but most things we eat were not originally meant for humans. Most vegetables do not naturally grow- we plant them and harvest them to meet our needs. We don't eat only the things we find naturally growing without our involvement. Likewise, most of the fruit and veggies grow to serve the purpose of reproduction for the plant. Do you suppose an apple tree grows an apple for the purpose of feeding you? No. It grows the apple to have seeds that will fall and grow a new apple tree. You alter your environment by planting the tree where you want it to grow and then picking and eating the apple. It is no different with the cow. It doesn't have milk for the purpose of feeding you, but you can drink it. Eggs are the same way. They exist to hatch chickens, but you can eat them just like you eat an apple tree's "egg", the apple.

milk comes from cows and is all natural, cheese is milk after its been steamed and pressed and such, they're all natural they aren't made from phony ingredients.

depends on which ad campaign you ask

well meats cheese and eggs have been consumed since the history books began how i feel is if Jesus ate it so can i

Milk is as natural a food as you can hope to get these days, cows were domesticated a long time ago, were part & parcel of a farmers homestead.grazed around the farm & were milked at regular times to give the household it's regular milk suppy. How many such units exist today, besides additives & processing are ways of increasing the shelf life of a perishable product,I hardly think it makes it unnatural, If you take very minute details into account,i think very few products will qualify as natural in the sense you expect.

Hahaha...

As long as what you put in your mouth was never living or breathing you shouldn't worry about it.

Because European cultures have been consuming milk for thousands of years, people of european descent have started to develop an enzyme which assists in the digestion of milk products. The enzyme is not yet fully developed as many claim it is.

This enzyme is lacking in other culture's. Yet, american corporations are now going into Asia and pushing dairy. they are eying Africa also as a market for their products. They are making claims that milk is needed for strong bones, yet the countries with the highest rates of osteoporosis are the ones that drink the most milk.

These food are not natural, and cow's need to be kept pregnant in order to keep producing milk. Calves are killed for veal, or thrown into the whole process to start the horrible life of a dairy cow.

In fact milk and cheese are considered natural. The only descrepancy some might have is in industrial settings where these two are produced in high volumes.

However the product itself is natural. Just because the milk might have been originally intended for a calf, it doesn't mean it is unnatural for us to drink it. No calf's went hungry because of this.

I think you need to look into your comments a bit before simply ranting because another inconsiderate user made a comment that offended you. Just brush it off, there are thousands of dumb comments on here everyday. That is part of what makes this sight interesting.
