I've drained and frozen some firm tofu....now what?!

Question:

I've drained and frozen some firm tofu....now what?

I have been hearing that draining and freezing tofu changes the consistency, but I've never tried it. What's a good recipe that really accentuates this new texture?

Answers:
I love pre-frozen tofu.

FAKEN (Veggie Bacon)

I slice the tofu thinner than the picture so it is more bacon-ish. Get some veganaise, bread, lettuce and tomato and you have a great BLT.

This probably isn't healthy, so don't make a habit out of it.
:)

You can also cut it into chunks and use it as a meat substitute in any Chinese dish. It is yummy and you can experience the different texture.

I like to fry it in oil and make kung pao tofu. yummy over brown rice.

I put it in a dish towel and press down on it to get out any water, then slice it thin and and fry it in a little bit of oil. I set it aside and make a stir fry, adding the tofu back for the last few minutes to reheat it and let it absorb some of the sauce.

oh! delicious! this would be a great oppurtunity to make one of my favorite Japanese side dishes! Miso soup is a great tofu recipe, and the tofu texture that you now have really goes great witht the cloudy, yet yummy soup & onions! YUM! =]

yea it works really good, i like frozen tofu, but i am too lazy with the additional step, but yes, yes omg yes
