Is soy yogurt considered a light snack or is it just like eating tofu?!

Question:

Is soy yogurt considered a light snack or is it just like eating tofu?

I am just curious if it really matters what form your soybeans take when picking something to eat.

Answers:
It's more like a light snack. It has far less fat
and as V&P just stated only about 180 calories.
Many varieties come with active cultures and
calcium enhancement. So it is really not like
eating straight tofu.

Seriously...don't eat it, I've tried it...it's NASTY. But if you do I would guess it's some form of tofu.

Light Snack-About 180 calories.

If you mean commercially available yoghurt I'd class it as a dessert due to all the sugars they add (both overt and hidden).

If you speak of *real* yoghurt I'd be willing to agree with a light snack. Tofu has the overall edge in real nutrition even when you consider the effects of live culture.

ok yogurt = good for u
tofu=nasty

I think it would be like eating tofu because soy milk is hevier than regular milk i think lol sorry i am trying to help but i'm not a vegtarin.

i think its more like a snack.

it would depend on how much you are eating. If it's just a small cup then it would be a light snack. If you are going to eat the whole container...that's like a meal.

Aren't they both the same thing?

It depends on the brand.. there are some good soy yogurts and
there are some good tofu...
to bring out the flavour of them add a little nutmeg with a wee bit cocoa unsweetened of course). U'll be surprised what that does to tofu!
As for soy yogurts U might add cinnamon or Papaya to it!
I admit some brands no matter what you do they are terrible these usually are the store brands! Beatrice makes a good one! Sovereign is another good brand. Some So Nice products are good but not all!

its like a light yogurt that doesnt taste good.

Actually as a raw food specialist I should caution you on your consumption of soy based products unless they are fermented.

Studies of late show that soy has like many other cash crops been over processed and a such forced to grow in poor soil conditions and like many other cash crops treated with chemicals and other toxic substances to enhance it's growth rate.

That being said if you are looking for a healthy low cal tasty snack try rice based products.

As far as soy goes stick to the organic brands, and look to tamari, noma shoyu and miso for a better source , with "live"
bacteria culture.
