Why do you not eat meat?!

Question:

Why do you not eat meat?

Are any of you consern about the lack of protien that the risk that envolves

Answers:
I don't eat meat because it is dead and I'm not comfortable with something having to die for my food when it isn't necessary. And I get plenty of protein. It is almost impossible to be protein deficient unless you are starving.

i love meat

i don't eat meat for a few reasons including it isn't a neccassary food for humans to consume, you can get every nutrient your body requires without meat, i do not agree with the way animals are raised and treated, and i never really liked the taste of most meats growing up anyway.

oh, and there are more sources of protein than just meat you know.

What lack of protein? If anything I know that in the country I live in, this so called "lack of protein" is a complete exaggeration. I eat right, I balance my diet, I have no "lack of protein". And chances are If you eat meat all the time, I am healthier than you.

Meat is part of a balanced diet. I eat meat. I also eat a lot of grains, fruits and vegetables.

I was just looking for a chance to pull this link out again. If there is a lack of protein then I guess these people shouldn't be very successful:

Eating a balanced diet is what is needed to be healthy, it isn't necessary to have meat in that diet.

Becuz it's gross, it makes u fat, and did u know that in every thing of chicken there's a little bit of poop! Yuck so thats why!

The lack of protein from not eating meat is a myth... people tell it just to feel better about eating it. Wouldn't you need a good reason? That probably IS your reason.

I eat meat, but was vegetarian for one month... some reasons for being vegetarian:

you love animals
you can get protien from other sources- tofu, cheese, milk, beans, peanuts, peanut butter, yogurt, ice cream, soy burgers
you believe it is a healthier diet

I probably don't get enough protein, but at the same time, I think it's worth it. Vegetarians save about 99 lives a year. Even if I didn't believe in animals' rights, I think meat is just disgusting and grotesque. Personally, I don't see the difference between eating animals and eating humans.

I believe eating meat is wrong. As simple is that. Humans are not equipped with an organism to digest meat. We just have the intelligence to make frying pans and put a dead animal in it for our consumption. Or think of Milk; we are the only species on this earth that consume the milk of other species and we even do it as older individuals that do not require milk anymore.
It is a bit arrogant to put ourselves atop of a food chain were we actually don't belong in and is wrong to feel everything is there for us.

As to its nutrients, there is nothing in meat that we cannot get from other sources. Compare an average or healthy vegetarian with an average or healthy meat-eater and you'll see who the healthiest person is quite easily.

Honestly, It's not because I don't like the taste, but I don't love it and it is just to heavy on my body. I don't like the smell of it either. I realized that in becoming a veggie I eat foods now that I like rather than just things I grew up eating. I know where a banana comes from, I also know where a pork chop comes from and anyone should know pigs are disgusting creatures that EAT anything!

inhumane ways of animal slaughter

There's no risk of not getting enough protien if you go vegetarian if you eat more than just junk food. Protein is abundant in veggie foods.

I don't eat meat because I despise the way animals are treated in the farming industry and because I like and respect animals. I don't think that my (or anyone's) momentary pleasure (at least it used to be pleasure - now it disgusts me) in eating meat is worth the suffering/life of an animal.
