Question??????

ok i tryed giveing up eating meat because i saw some nasty websites on factory farming. my question is about organic meat. do the animals live better lives? p.s if your going to send me rude and nasty replys then dont bother

Are you justifying the slaughter with good treatment then?

They live better lives.

Organic meat, to my knowledge, is just fead organic feed. The cows may or may not be treated better because they are being fed really expensive feed. You'd have to do more research on that...

No!!! The lives of the animals will be the same.

no they dont, they just arent filled with chemicals

no

umm.. chipoltes is a good place to go eat for organic meat.. and yes .. they live better lives

They are killed with less pain, but are still killed. If you want to have some meat content in your diet, i would reccomend only including fowl and fish.

In general yes. Make sure you look for meat that says "free range" or for eggs that say "from cage free chickens".
If you have a Whole Foods store near you, they have great meat from animals that have been raised humainly.

well, no. when an animal dies, it doesnt matter how it dies, just the fact that it does. organic meat, unfortunatly doesnt help the poor little animals lives. weather its organic or regular meat, the animal will not survive. srry!

Yes some do, but for the most part its like anything else, they promise a better life for the animals without cages and better food for them, but who knows if its true. I applaud you for caring!

Better treatment and better for you.

Hi, after growing up on a farm i can tell you that free range is definitely better. The animals are not penned in, and lead normal lives for their species. Also the food is organic, and without additives, hormones or chemicals.
We raised chickens, cows, pigs and sheep as well as 1500 acres of corn, wheat and barley. The farm was self sustaining.
meaning, it was its own little eco system. All natural.

honestly i don't think so.now i am not sure google it and see but it's like they say organic eggs are with happier chickens but they just put that on the label they are still in a factory in a cage it ten maybe twenty other chickens getting their beaks seared off. so no it dosent' mean anything when they say organic

I'm a vegetarian myself. I don't eat meat or other animals. It just doesn't feel right eating other living things even if they are dead. How would you feel if someone ate you after death?

They still get butchered and killed honey. What's good about that?

My brother only eats what he calls "happy meat" meaning it was fed what it's supposed to eat, free range, and not pumped full of hormones. Just because something says organic it dosn't mean the animal led a happier life, it just meant they were fed organic feed. free range can also be tricky, it may just mean that they could walk a couple of steps in their cage rather than being tied down. your best bet is to try to get local meat from small farms, directly from the farm if possible because then you know where it's coming from and the farmer is probably getting more money than if they sold it through a store. even for your own health you are better off at least getting organic/ hormone free meat because you really don't want to be putting those chemicals into your body.

Grass fed organic beef is treated better. They feel the sun on their back and the grass beneath their feed. I have no idea about organic poultry, nor can I vouch for the slaughter being humane. I eat eggs from my father in law's chickens because I know how they chickens are treated and they aren't laying hens being stressed out by year round egg laying.

Just because some one tells you something doesn't mean it is true. Just because the package says that it is organic or free range does not mean that they actually lived a better life. Just means that there are a set of rules they(the company) have to follow in order for the meat to be considered organic or free range, it could be more living space, organic feed, a specific amount of time outdoors. Whatever the "rule" is, it either isn't even applied, or it's twisted in a way for the company to benefit financially.

Organic, free-range and humane meat is just a marketing concept dreamed up by the meat people to make you feel better about eating meat. Don't believe it!

The lives these animals live may be marginally better than animals in factory farms, but not much better from what I've heard. They still die anyway! What could be more cruel than killing something because you like the way it tastes? Is it better to kill someone if you don't beat them first? Maybe a little bit, but they still die.

Don't focus so much on conditions. Focus on the fact that animals have an innate desire to keep living. As sentient beings, they have the right to live without being used as a resource.

Abolish animal use and abuse in your own life. GO VEGAN!
