i hope you're macho complex is a little easier to deny now. and also congratulations for being the first person to come on this part of yahoo answers to give us stick. because you are the first you know. seriously, you are definatley the first person that has ever done it. congratulations on your originality.

Just do it in reverse order !!

don't shoot it with a shotgun or you get lots of scrap metal when you eat it just use and air rifle shoot it in the head or snap it's neck

Having the balls to do it(They're so cute in person)

Break it's neck, pluck it while it is warm and w3ash it.Cut off the feet and prepare as in cook books ok!

break its kneck pluck it and then roast it enjoy

Well if your a vegitarian, I suggest you Choke it!

andrew, don't go down that road, son.

Cut off it's head with an axe or knife and let it bleed out.

i always choke mine but i only make it spew-up.

1. Grab chicken by the feet and drap head over log or stump, swing machete to neck, severing head.
2. Hold chicken outstretched till wings stop flapping and blood stops flowing.
3. Place feet in twine lariats tied to horizontal beam.
4. Either pluck feathers and scorch off hairs or skin chicken.
5. Remove feet from lariats and take indoors for gutting and foot removal.
6. Gut and save liver, heart, and gizzard.
7. If baking/boiling whole chicken, do so now.
8. If piecing, carve hip/legs from body then split breast from back.
9. Cut back into two pieces laterally and split breast into two pieces vertically.
10. Cut legs from thighs.
11. Wash and roll in cornmeal/flour/lemon pepper mixture and place in hot (1/4 inch deep) olive oil in skillet (350 degrees) cover and cook each side 15 minutes.
12. Remove and place on towel for 1-2 minutes to absorb excess oil.
13. Serve with homemade mashed potatos and gravy (mixed veggies optional) and hot bisquits.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm........

Cut its head off with an ax and run after it and cook it!

Interested to know why the question is in the vegetarian and vegan category ? I am only wondering because I consider myself vegetarian only because I do not eat anything that has been killled and that includes fish chicken and all the by products. As this has been my decision ever since I could decide for myself I am thinking all these years I have been something else.I am sure that could attract some rude comments. Please let the chicken live.

gross... but I'm glad some people have the balls to kill their own chickens, instead of buying from a store.

Try poultrychat.com it's got all the information you could need. And if it doesn't you can ask questions!

OK why the hell is this in the vegetarian and vegan section?

why are you so greedy and selfish that you have to eat an animal? Mother nature provides everything you need. If you HAD to kill and cook your own chicken, you likely couldn't-you eat it because someone else did the dirty work, and you can play ostrich, stick your head in the sand, and not realize it was a living creature. The gift of its eggs werent enough for you? Nope, gotta have the whole thing cause it tastes good and you have no will power. No worries, its your karma=its true that you ARE what you eat. So have fun you dead, tortured chicken

Let it cross the road...you know, to get to the other side! Just make sure the road is clear.
We are all chickens in some way or the other...cluck cluck. Do you want to kill and cook a fellow human being? I think not!
Now, if you mean a real chicken, which I assume you are, why on earth is this in the veg section? Just wondering.
Don't kill the helpless chicken though. If you do, that in my mind would be an act of cowardice. I mean, its not like it can really protect itself. Rather, I'd encourage raising it in your own backyard, but never ever kill it or its offspring. It can be a fun companion to have. (seriously!)

Well the traditional way is to "wring" it's neck. Wringing being twisting & stretching at the same time. It would still run around if it was let go though!

Never done it myself, but saw it many times as a kid when food was rationed. No one debated these things then.

Self doubt flows from a full belly..

ask a butcher. and why have u posted this question in the veggie section?

just don't get to know it first.

getting emotionally connected with an animal you're about to kill never works out.

:)
