What are some Vegetarian friendly Yogurts?

I'm afraid generally it's just a case of keep checking the ingredients list on everything. The ingredients of some brands change without any warning and it's easy to be caught out.
As said by other posters, you need to avoid ALL versions of gelatine, and any rennet that doesn't specifically say non-animal rennet.
You'd be safest going for vegan yoghurt-style desserts - ie soy based ones as there is no chance of there being anything non-veggie in them.
Kosher gelatin is still from animals.
The organic ones dont have gelatin, and the vanilla Dannon doesnt.
I use Stonyfield Farms Brand
What you need, as a vegetarian, to worry about more than geletin in dairy is Rennet. (an enzyme scraped from the stomach of slaughtered veal calfs, used to seperate curds and whey)
I suggest Silk, they make the most awesome vegan soy yoghurt ^^
There is a nice soy-based yogurt called "silk live" that tastes like milk-based yogurt and has the same texture if you're into non-milk yogurts--I like both, personally. The silk is vegan too, so no gelatin, whey, etc.
I like Whole Soy brand, and Silk is popular. Trader Joe's has their own brand which is okay too.
i know that is so gross that animal fat is in gelatine. Well kosher food is better to the animals so that would be a healthier choice
Yop yogurt drinks
Brown Cow or
Stonyfield farms.
Good luck
de winkle, most fruit ones have gelatine
I suppose this really depends on where in the world you are...
Astro yogurt has no gelatin, nor does Olympic. These are not soy, they are dairy. I'm in Canada, I doubt these products exist anywhere else.
Its really easy to make homemade yogurt-that way you know EXACTLY whats in it. I use fresh raw milk from my cow
A vegetarian friendly yoghurt in Australia is Jalna. It comes in different flavours in different sized tubs at the mains supermarkets such as Coles and Woolworths. My favourite is vanilla! The plain flavour is good in cooking instead of sour cream.
Enjoy!
