I need more help with this vegation idea.?

how can i actully get full. i am three days into trying this, i am am alomst constantly hungry, what can i do? also, where i live there isnt a heath place where i cna get tofo, and i dont think we have soy milk, maybe but i dobut it. so what can i eat, plus i am the only one doing this in my family so it makes it kinda hard, ALSO one more thing, one reson [beside animal rights!!] is the losing weight part, how quickly should i c changes, thanks alot!!

I don't know where you are from, but I was in your exact situation once. Surprisingly places like Wal-Mart, Kroger, Marsh, and Meijer all sell tofu, soymilk, even tempeh if you look around. Try protein drinks or smoothies.........(try bolthouse farm brands). They are pretty filling. Also vegetarian breads. Make a peanut butter sandwich with a can of vegetarian vegetable soup. Soups are always good at being filling, and I know there are some Progresso brand vegetarian soups. They say it right on the back

Don't give up or get discouraged, remember, most people started out exactly where you are. Good luck. I hope you stay with it!!

it sounds like you are just experiencing a detox from the meat still in your system.. Eat lots of high fiber foods, such as beans, lentils, nuts, seeds, brocolli, cauliflower, twice baked potato, etc. Also, small frequent meals are better than 3 large ones, and snacking on healthy snacks such as baby raw carrots, radishes, and celery with homemade hummus helps curb your appetite. Keep in mind that meat stays in your system for a long time, and causes your stomach to swell. It needs time to shrink back to a normal size. Drinking lots of good quality water helps flush out your system. I wasnt trying to lose weight, but lost 40 pounds in just over 2 months. Keep up the good work. An apple helps control hunger too, as it has pectin that will swell and help keep you feeling full. Good luck

question 1 - how to get full fast on a veggie diet, eat large amounts of carbs, ex - potatoes are very filling,
question 2 - try Whole Foods grocery store for any kind of soy products, they are in almost every state, as far as I know,
question 3 - how to be a veggie when no one else in the family is, eat everything they do but hold off on the animal products
question 4 - how quickly you lose weight will not just depend upon what you eat, you have to get into a regular excercise routine, even if it's just going for a 30 minute walk every day
Unless you get into the whole macrobiotics end of being a vegetarian, doing without animal products is not as hard as it seems.

By vegation I am assuming you mean vegetarian / vegan?

The way that you can get full is by eating smaller meals and more often (which is healthier for digestion etc whether a person is full vegan or omnivore). It works for me anyway- instead of eating 3 meals a day- I eat 5 more evenly sized meals. I am vegetarian by the way. I find that eating a relatively big breakfast helps.

You have to try to have as many whole foods as you can. For example eating brown rice compared to white rice will be better. Combining grains and legumes also helps because it equals whole proteins (I think I said that correctly!) so for example have rice and lentils together etc- this will be more nutritious, satisfying and sustaining.

Also given that you have only changed your diet for 3 days- you might have to gradually change your diet- that is how I became vegetarian- so if you are willing to do that it might make it somewhat easier to get used to meal planning and let your body adapt to different eating practises.

I realise that it makes it hard when you are the only one doing this in your family- same as me- my family eventually accepted it and adapted to it- and they eat less meat now and say they are healthier for it.

Lastly- you will not lose weight magically by being vegetarian / vegan. Being vegetarian myself I have put on weight (not dramatically). Vegetarians still eat all the other foods that omnivores eat (obviously minus the meat) so unless you were eating heaps of fatty meat before, then there is no reason why being vegetarian will make you lose weight. I still eat heaps of oils (mostly olive oil which is healthy anyway - in moderation), nuts, etc so being vegetarian doesn't equal being on a diet to lose weight. Of course you can lose weight by being vegetarian, but it is not vegetarianism that makes you lose weight- it is what vegetarian foods you do or don't eat. I guess if you want to still lose weight then look for other options like seeing a dietician, exercise etc (I don't know anything more specific regarding weight advice).

I havent lost weight being a vegan but ive never ate animals so maybe that is why,but if u used to eat meat regulary u probably will loose weight ull notice in at least a month.I would saute plain tofu or flavered with veggies and make vegan wraps with brown rice in a tortilla.Eat beans lentils are good u can make lentil tacos,or veggie burgers eat nuts.I dont know where u live but iam sure u have soy milk most stores have it near regular milk ,theres vegan subsitutes for most everything.

I lost weoight within about a week or two, but not much at all, a couple of pounds, but then i did only weigh 7 stone to start with.
no need for any of those, i am the only one in my family too, and most of my family domt agree with it!
eat quorn fro substitutes. are you really hungry??? i wasnt at all. Eat lots of eggs nd nuts, more carbs. and increase normal protions.

Ok, you are still getting use to the process. I recommend you have your main food as soy meat. Then you should start eating a lot more vegetables and grains such as wheat bread. Umm you should see results in about 2 weeks, well that's when I saw mine. BUT, beside that, It is about animals! Well, have a nice day! (@_@)

as many salad vegies as you like,eat it till it comes out of your ears,only 2 pieces of fruit per day ,contains sugar,be wary of root vegie like potato,sweet potato as thes are fattening.all the best

Eat some nuts and seeds or beans to satiate your hunger. The oils in the nuts and the protein in the beans will stop the hunger pangs. Avocado an oily fruit goes great in salad. Eating raw can cut preparation time. Eating a food combining diet would allow you to eat more.
Tofu is made from soya beans which are usually easily available. You can always load up on fruit as a snack. Pears are here and soon custard apples will be arriving if you live in the southern hemisphere.
Being a new vegetarian go slowly. A lot of people start by cutting out red meat, then poultry, then fish; then eggs then dairy. Some people call themselves vegetarians although they eat dairy ( milk, yoghurt, cheese, ghee) and eggs. Strictly speaking they are lacto-ovo vegetarians. If you're being a vegetarian not to harm animals, as many vegans (true vegetarians) are, you wouldn't have honey either. Many people eat a vegetarian diet for their health. one example is a macrobiotic diet.
Get vitamin B12 supplements if your going total vegetarian for any length of time.
Listen to your body as it's not any easy task to extract sufficient nutrients from the limited range of food in modern cultures. Find a happy medium that you can live with.
How much oil and starch (grains) you add to your diet may determine whether you lose weight.
Try this food combining diet if you like:
Fresh fruit for breakfast.
Starch for lunch ( and whatever salad or vegetables you like, and maybe some beans) rice , pasta, bread etc
Salad, vegetables and then nuts.
Water between meals. A more alkaline mineral water will also help to satiate your hunger.

Getting tofu is not your biggest problem. Your illiteracy is.
