Since i am a vegetarian what can i eat for protein?
Answers:
Protein is compiled of many different amino acids some of which are essential. They all need to be balanced in the right combination for you to get adequate protein for health. Most nuts need to be combined with other nuts to give a balanced protein. Almonds, brazil and cashews is one good combination. There are 3 seeds that supply essential amino acids in good balance. These are sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and sesame seeds. If you have a jar of these seeds ground then you can sprinkle the mixture on other food such as pasta or vegetables to make sure you have a good supply of protein. Tahini, made from sesame seeds is also good to eat on other food.
Nuts
peanut butter, any nuts,
protein bars and shakes. nuts, legumes, flax seeds
Peanut Butter would probably be the best thing.
Beans, nuts...
nuts, beans, ants and termites
Peanut Butter is a wonderful source of protein, and can be used with fruit, bread, muffins, etc.
Good Luck to you!
My favorite is beans and eggs. You can also eat peanut butter and cheeses.
Beans, nuts, tofu, eggs and milk if you wish to eat them.
Tofu, legumes, depending on how strict a vegan-eggs.
Leafy green veggies (for iron and potassium). Nuts and seeds.
These are also just a starting point.
Beans are a very good source of protein.
Rice and beans. Together they contain all 26 essential amino acids.
Beans, grains, veggies, seaweed, nutritional yeast, dairy, nuts, eggiweggs all have protein. Yes, even veggies have some. Just eat some of the above and don't believe the "ohmygod I'm gonna die cuz I'm a veggie not getting enough protein" nonsense. Fact is: westerners have plenty of disease caused by too much protein. It's not hard to get enough, really.
Tofu and tempeh as well as nuts (as mentioned above). Also mushrooms and Quorn. Beans are both carbohydrates and protein.
If you are vegetarian then you can be a lacto-ova vegetarian, who eat cows and goats milk, cheese and eggs. You can choose to be lacto (milk and cheese) or ova (eggs), but if you eat neither then you are a vegan.
Everything has protein in it. Whole grains pasta and breads, nuts and beans are fantastic sources.
you can eat soya. Tofu its good protein.
If you are not a vegan then I would eat eggs and cheese, especially cottage cheese.
There are many things that you can eat to increase you protein. For the best advice, go to your local health foos shop (Holland and Barrets?) and ask them. They can provide you with vegetables that have more protein thatn beef! (cant member what they are called)
also
eggs-very good, about 7g an egg.
nuts and seeds (sounds horrid but you can get some lovely ones)
cheese
baked beans
milk
soya products
quorn pruducts-'chicken'kievs are great for protein and taste lovely!
for iron eat
green vegetables
tomatoes
hope that helps,a dn remember you are doing this for the best. good luck!
"It is almost impossible to become protein-deficient outside of famine conditions (in which too few calories overall are ingested to support life, and those calories derived from only one or two food sources). A varied vegetarian diet with adequate calorie intake ensures adequate protein inherently."

Most meat eaters get way too much which can cause kidney disease, some cancers and several other illnesses.
