What's the title for a vegetarian that eats fish and poultry, but not red meat?!

Question:

What's the title for a vegetarian that eats fish and poultry, but not red meat?

I knew the word, but like many things, it was forgoten along with my pledge to never smoke pot.

I don't eat red meat. No cow, pig, rabbit, squirel, deer, elk... Get the picture? If it was a mammal *ie had FUR, like hair* I will not eat it. It's for the health issue *scapegoatwhen telling those with faint hearts* and because I veiw it as a strange form of cannibalism. Do what you will, but I have friends who can vouch for what happens if you go waving astrip of pulled pork in my face.

Anyways, what's the term?

I've openly reffered to myself as a partial-vegetarian for years, but I did at one point know of this *relatively* big word that stood for what I am.

The scientific term is a "flexitarian" I am one of these and I wanted to know what I was called so I was reading this Science Magazine and it had an article about this.

Omnivore

Meat-reducer

or non-red-meat eater, if you prefer.

Sorry, vegetarians do not eat animals.

There really isn't such a word. Not one that would be in the dictionary, that I'm aware of.

Sounds like a mix between a Jewish person and a Vegan.

a pesco-vegetarian eats fish

a semi-vegetarian eats poultry

But basically, you're a "non-red meat eater," not technically a vegetarian.

vegetarians will call you a demi-vegetarian, which technically is a derogatory term. To describe yourself as a vegetarian you must not consume any flesh of any living creature.
Your title really is just a more healthy omnivore.

There is no term, you are considered a "Vegetarian". Sorry, either am I, I have the same eatting habits and know all aboout the dislike for the Pork. If you want to be a vegetarian give up the fish and poultry and you will be a Ovo-Lacto Vegetarian.

The title for a vegetarian that eats fish and poultry is the same title for a non-smoker that smokes.

Interesting! I had that exact question, because I eat specifically poultry and fish, but nothing that is mammal, ESPECIALLY pork, as it reminds me of human.. and also pigs are omnivores which isn't appetizing.
I know the fish eaters are called pescatarians (I spelled that wrong).. maybe we need to come up with a term?

not quite a vegetarian.

Don't forget that fishing kills thousands of marine mammals a year. Bycatch and cast off kills dolphins, manatees, polar bears, seals, sea lions, etc.

And poultry have basically the same emotional and pain sensation capacity as any mammal. Lack of fur doesn't make it not hurt when they are boiled alive or when their legs are broken to fit them into the crates.

I'm the same thing (only meat i eat is chicken, turkey, salmon), there's really no name for it, you just don't eat red meat.

There is no such thing as a vegetarian that eats fish and poultry. Vegetarians eat no animal flesh whatsoever. There is no difference between eating cow and eating chicken.

You are an omnivore technically. There is no such thing as a partial or semi vegetarian.

there is no term for that. If you eat meat, and poultry and fish ARE meat, then you are an omnivore, same as if you ate beef or pork. If you eat no poultry, and only fish and seafood, you would be a pescatarian. There is no half way, when being a vegetarian. You either are, or you aren't. How is a chicken any less of an animal than a cow? Just because it doesn't have fur, it still has a central nervous system. a beating heart, and eyeballs. Same difference. Would you eat a parrot? A peacock? A parakeet? How is a chicken any different....

Oh goodness, how many times do I have to tell people this? It is NOT vegetarianism. You just don't like red meat! Some meat eaters just dont like Hamburgers! big whoop. You're not even close to being vegetarian.
