What kind of food will help me to gain weight and muscles as quick as possible?

i am vegetarian . and i want to know what type of food will make me gain weight and muscle as quick as possible . and how much of those should i consume in a week.

=) I am also a veggie and I lift weights 5 times /week. Just generally eat healthy thoughout the day. Small meals more often is ideal. Make sure through food that you are getting enough protein(tofu, eggs, cheese, beans, whatever feels best). Within a half hour after your workout you should take some type of protein powder(i suggest whey protein powder). Take 3 heaping teaspoons with a full glass of water. It also helps to take a half teaspoon of honey(lick off the spoon) right after the protein powder because through insulin production it helps the muscles be more quickly supplied with protein. Without protein powder your body's protein demands after a heavy lifting session simply cannot be met through food because it can take up to 4 hours for the protein in that food to reach the muscles. The first hour after your workout is when your body wants all that protein. The body doesn't store protein.

Without protein powder you will not gain much strength and muscle mass. Your muscles will get in shape and look toned but will not get bigger.

Creatine is another substance I use which helps to maximize your output in a lifting session thereby creating more resistance and microtears which help help you grow stronger and bigger faster. Take a teaspoon of creatine with a glass of water before you go to the gym(preferably on on empty stomach, as long as you don't feel hungry when you're working out).

Last of all, drink 8 glasses of water per day to support the muscles.

get protein shakes drink those once a day, eat egg whites and eat those for breakfast, make some tofu burgers and those are hella healthy. eat alot of cheese for calcium. eat a lot of fruits and veggies.

High protein food (cereals, nuts, etc.)for muscles and Fatty food like diary products, milk yogurt, butter, cheese, etc. can contribute in gaining weight and soon you will become rolly polly !!!

Soy protein is an excellent way to gain muscle mass, but it should be taken in moderation by males(basically it can make you more feminine). But otherwise, it's an excellent source of protein which will stimulate your muscle growth and such.

Whey protein is another excellent way to gain mass without the consequences that effect males.

I am only 14, but we learnt that eggs are especially good for muscles and body building in biology...boiled or poached i think.

eat avocado, tofu, drink soy milk, if you drink 3 glass of soy milk a day, and eat the same thing you're eating, that's alot of extra protein

and eat lots of nuts and seeds, the highest protein nut is pine nuts, it contains higher protein content then soy beans
