Looking for a good dip?!

Question:

Looking for a good dip?

I am looking for a vegan dip. Perhaps something made out of lentils or another type. I have tried chickpeas and like it quite well, but I am looking for something different. Anyone know of a good dip? Oh by the way it is for celery and carrots etc...

RANCH DRESSING ALL DAY WAYYYY

You could make one up yourself with lentils if thats what you want to use. Put some in a blender with some garlic, oil, salt and pepper - add lemon juice to taste

RANCH DRESSING IS NOT VEGAN---IT HAS CHEESE AND MILK IN IT DUH!!!!

let ur shoulder lean, and let ur shoulder lean.
nah I dunno but u sound like a really good cook.
Can u invite me to dinner sometime.
lol
good luck

try mixing a vinaigrette with some Dijon mustard. the mustard will emulsify the vinegar & oil so that it reaches that "dip" consistency. another emulsifier is mayo, but i am not sure if this is compatible with the vegan diet. other than that, look for organic bean dips, most are vegan. humus (chickpea dips) comes in a wide variety of flavors, so experiment.

1 cup ranch dressing [ can you eat this?]
1/2 cup sour cream
pinch of salt
lots of freshly ground pepper
Variation: I like to use fresh dill from the garden when in season.
If you can't have the ranch/sour cr., I would make hummus.
It's great with everything- especially rice crackers.

I make homemade hummus with chickpeas, but also add roasted garlic, roasted red peppers, or green onions to alter the flavor. Its also good with horseradish added in. I puree cooked red lentils with tahinni and horseradish. Black bean dip is good with green onion.

Vegan Spinach Dip

1 Box Frozen Chopped Spinch (Thawed)
1 Tub Tofutti Sour Cream
1 Pkg Vegan Vegetable Soup Mix*
1/4 Cup Nayonaise

*Note: Some soup mixes contain beef or other animal fat. Keep this in mind when shopping.

Combine all ingredients and mix well. To serve, cut off the top of a pumpernikel bread, and hollow out the bottom, leaving about an inch thick pumpernikel bowl. Pour dip into bread bowl and chill for a few hours before serving. Use the hollowed out bread to dip into the mixture.

White Bean Pesto Dip

465 grams / 16 ounces can cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
1 cup packed basil leaves
2 teaspoons nutritional yeast flakes
2 teaspoons water
1 teaspoon garlic, minced
2 teaspoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
250 grams / 8 ounces asparagus, stalks trimmed
250 grams / 8 ounces sugar snap peas, strings removed
3 cups cucumber, peeled, deseeded, and cut diagonally into 1.25 centimeter / 1/2 inch slices
2 cups carrot, peeled, and cut into 1.25 centimeters / 1/2 inch sticks
2 cups radishes, ends trimmed
2 cups orange or yellow capsicum, destemmed, deseeded, and cut into 1.25 centimeter / 1/2 inch strips

METHOD
In a food processor or blender, combine the beans, basil, nutritional yeast, water, and garlic, and blend well. Add the olive oil, salt, and pepper, and continue to process until smooth. Transfer to a glass bowl, cover, and chill for 1 hour to allow the flavors to blend.
Meanwhile, blanch the asparagus in boiling water for 3 minutes. Remove asparagus from the water with a slotted spoon, immediately immerse in a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process and to retain the bright green color. Blanch the snap peas in the same water for 1 minute, remove with a slotted spoon, and immerse in the ice water. Remove the asparagus and snap peas from the ice water, place on a towel, and pat dry.

Place the bowl of white bean pesto dip on a large platter, and alternating colors, arrange the vegetables around the bowl of dip.

Butterfly, can vegans eat products that contain milk, cheese and eggs?

you can try french dressing which you can make yourself. mix mayonnaise, ketchup, dash of salt and pepper.
- japanese dressing - mix soft tofu, vinegar and olive oil. dash of salt and pepper and misu mix. very good and healthy. you can also add japanese mayo.
-japanese mayo - japanese mayo, dash of salt & pepper.

How about Hummus?

i saw this one kind made with like, peanut butter and ketchup it was delicious, its not gross even if it sounds like that. i don't have the recipe tho, u'll have to look it up

Mayonnaise is the best. Fat too!!

Mix together one package of Tofutti: Better Than Cream Cheese and a can of Hormel Chili: Vegetarian with Beans. Then just warm it up in the microwave and voila "cheesy" chili dip.

When you get than yen for Mexican as we all do:
Bean dip
1 can refried beans (you'd use the vegetarian ones)
1/2 cup shredded cheese (replace with tofu shreds)
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 clove chopped garlic
1 whole chopped jalapeno
1/2 cup salsa
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin

Warm all together in a saucepan and enjoy.
