Which has more protein, egg whites or yolks?!

Question:

Which has more protein, egg whites or yolks?

kind of a stupid question, but its just one of those things that i've never been too sure of.

Answers:
Not a stupid question at all. Eggs are always a good debate!
I raised chickens so I could serve fresh digestible protein. The whites have more protein at 3.6 grams and the yolks have protein at 2.7 grams. The yolks have the fat and nutrients that a growing chickie needs. The white is basically the chickie. 97 per cent of the protein in an egg both from yolk and white, is digestible, which is a spectatular amount. The University of Boston did a controlled test that determined that the people who ate both the white and the yolk had basically the same amount of fat in their blood as those persons who ate only the white. Thank goodness for that because I always told my children to eat the whole egg! :)

not quite sure but they're both very high in protein..my guess would be the whites but then again im not sure =)

whites?

it 's all protein but the white has less fat and the yolk is all protein

The white has the protein content in an egg. There is almost no trace of protein in the yolk that is why when you're in an exercise, you separate the yolk from the white and you drink the white coz protein is recommended for people on exercise.

The protein is evenly distributed. Funny, I just read this question on a vegetarian yahoo group.

Both have protein. This is a good question and taught me something I didn't know.

If you are talking about "consumption" as I once use to GROSSLY consume such, well DON'T DO IT, go vegan : beans nuts and seeds ~ main protein sources for you and me.

"green olives and tofu" - patient kenes

the egg white is full of protein. if you eat two eggs per day you will get the per day requirement of protein. the yolk is full of fats. if you need a fat free diet with protein you can take the white part of egg . you have asked a good question which will be usefull to others.

egg whites, it's pure protein

you

Egg yolk got the protein. (--,)

the egg whites.
