This is a vegetarian section and
VEGETARIANS DO NOT EAT BOVRIL.

Beef stock will once again become the main ingredient of Bovril after a two year absence. The iconic ‘beef tea’ was reformulated in 2004, following the export ban on beef, but since that was lifted in March of this year, the Bovril team is proud to announce that beef is being reintroduced to its classic British beef drink.

The name Bovril comes from an unusual word Johnston found in a book. 'Vril' was 'an electric fluid' which 'cured diseases and established equilibrium of natural powers.' He combined it with the first two letters of the Latin word for beef 'Bos'.
