Why do vegans forbid eating animals while God has allowed it?!

Question:

Why do vegans forbid eating animals while God has allowed it?

it is wrong to forbid that which is not forbidden. And yes, you guessed it, I'm rallying a campaign against vegetarians.

Answers:
Why would you rally against vegetarians? Simply because they choose not to poison their bodies? Why not rally against Genocide in Darfur? Or against the mistreatment of our veterans? Or against obesity? Seems like your priorities are a little off.

If someone told you (because I know you could never come up with it on your own) that your god allows eating meat, then continue. Judging others is not your place. Do you really think that Jesus would eat factory farmed meat? Or would be for the suffering of his father's creatures? If so, then you really don't understand Christianity at all.

Vegans choose not to eat meat for whatever reason. Ask 1000 different vegans and you'll get 1000 variations on answers.

Edit: If "God" didn't intend for us to be vegetarians, then why did he make it so easy to live without meat? We certainly don't "need" it to survive . . .

Nobody is forcing you to be a vegan. Why do you care? It is their choice to refrain from eating meat. Just because something is allowed doesn't mean it is a requirement.

Not everyone is religious and not every religion believes in a God.

There were vegetarians in the bible. Read the book of Daniel. But to answer your question: This is a product of a society that has completely cut itself off from nature. Theodore Roosevelt was horrified with the first teddy bear and I see his point. When we farmed and hunted to survive, we saw nature and animals for what they were and we saw our place in it. But now we see movies that give animals human consciousness and sensibilities and we have blurred the line. the worst offender was Bambi. In it, the only source of danger and death was man. I guess there were no wolves, cougars, or other predators where Bambi lived. PETA stated that they wanted a petless, meatless society. But it is only when we are in close proximity to animals and nature that we truly appreciate them. It sounds counterintuitive, but the most ardent conservationists are hunters.

neither vegans nor god have any power to forbid anything to anybody

Romans 14:

The strong must bear with the weak. Cautions against judging and giving scandal.

14:1. Now him that is weak in faith, take unto you: not in disputes about thoughts.

14:2. For one believeth that he may eat all things: but he that is weak, let him eat herbs.*

14:3. Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not: and he that eateth not, let him not judge him that eateth. For God hath taken him to him.

14:4. Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? To his own lord he standeth or falleth. And he shall stand: for God is able to make him stand.

14:5. For one judgeth between day and day: and another judgeth every day. Let every man abound in his own sense.*

14:6. He that regardeth the day regardeth it unto the Lord. And he that eateth eateth to the Lord: for he giveth thanks to God. And he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not and giveth thanks to God.

14:7. For none of us liveth to himself: and no man dieth to himself.

14:8. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord: or whether we die, we die unto the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's.

14:9. For to this end Christ died and rose again: that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.

14:10. But thou, why judgest thou thy brother? Or thou, why dost thou despise thy brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

14:11. For it is written: As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me and every tongue shall confess to God.

14:12. Therefore every one of us shall render account to God for himself.

14:13. Let us not therefore judge one another any more. But judge this rather, that you put not a stumblingblock or a scandal in your brother's way.

14:14. I know, and am confident in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

14:15. For if, because of thy meat, thy brother be grieved, thou walkest not now according to charity. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.

14:16. Let not then our good be evil spoken of.

14:17. For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink: but justice and peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.

14:18. For he that in this serveth Christ pleaseth God and is approved of men.

14:19. Therefore, let us follow after the things that are of peace and keep the things that are of edification, one towards another.

14:20. Destroy not the work of God for meat. All things indeed are clean: but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.

14:21. It is good not to eat flesh and not to drink wine: nor any thing whereby thy brother is offended or scandalized or made weak.

14:22. Hast thou faith? Have it to thyself before God. Blessed is he that condemneth not himself in that which he alloweth.

14:23. But he that discerneth, if he eat, is condemned; because not of faith. For all that is not of faith is sin.*

If you are a "Bible thumper", I suggest, like I do many Bible thumpers, you reread it and stop bastardizing it out of ignorance........................ a thought.

rally away if it makes you feel better, you wont get a rise out of me. Hold your head high and proud that something has to suffer, bleed and die, just for you to satisfy yourself. You go, dude! When you post these stupid questions, is it because you want to convert us back to eating meat, or to make yourself feel better because YOU do? God also said "do unto others as you would have them do unto you", so should I rally a campaign against you for being selfish and uncaring about animals? No, I won't bother to sink to your level. The simple fact that you clearly state you are "rallying a campaign AGAINST vegetarians lets everyone know that you are just jeolous that you dont have the werewithall to pull it off yourself, and that you truly cant wrap your brain around and unusual concept. Like most others, you follow the herd because you are afraid to leave your comfort zone. Bet your mom is SO proud of you! And for that matter, God too

God "allowed" eatting flesh after the Flood. Being allowed something does not change the fact our bodies were designed to eat Vegan.
Why are you bothering to be against another person rights? That is a double edge sword.

“FOR I AM FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE:” (Psalm 139:14)

Why do you care if people are vegetarians? If more people become vegetarians then there will be more meat in the market that needs to be sold. Greater supply, cheaper prices to move it faster. You should be supporting vegetarians so that your grocery bill goes down and you can enjoy more meat for your dollar. If you converted people away from vegetarianism, you would be creating a huge strain on the supply of meat and increase the cost as demand goes up, making you spend more money.

Vegetarians tend to be compassionate people and on the whole are a spiritually-minded bunch. So vegetarianism is not in conflict with God's wishes at all. Anyway, I don't think God cares if we eat meat or not, but rather how we treat our fellow humans!

Vegetarianism/veganism is not a natural human diet. We are omnivores. How do we know this? Simple answer B12, abundant in animal protein and MUST be supplemented on a vegan diet. CERTAINLY NOT NATURAL!!

"The meat vitamin: B-12

The most important deficiency for the vegan is of vitamin B-12. By definition vitamin B-12 is essential to human life. It is essential for the synthesis of nucleic acids, the maintenance of the myelin sheath (the insulation around nerves which when damaged causes Multiple Sclerosis); indeed its presence or deficiency affects nearly all body tissues, particularly those with rapidly dividing cells. Without it we suffer from pernicious anaemia which, as its name suggests, is deadly, and a degeneration of the nervous system.

Vitamin B-12 is unique among vitamins in that while it is found universally in foods of animal origin, where it is derived ultimately from bacteria, there is no active vitamin B-12 in anything which grows out of the ground. Where vitamin B-12 is found on plants it is there only fortuitously in bacterial contamination."
.......
To enable vegans to survive, vitamin B-12 is added artificially to breakfast cereals in Britain and may be bought in pill form. This is hardly a natural way to get food and in many cases it is self-defeating. Vitamin B-12 is also unlike all other vitamins in that it occurs as a number of analogues, only one of which, cyanocobalamin , is active for humans. In collecting human stools for analysis Dr. Victor Herbert found that of each one hundred micrograms of vitamin B-12 extracted, only five micrograms was of the cyanocobalamin analogue (16) . Thus even in this most prodigious source of the vitamin ninety-five percent was composed of analogues which were useless. "

"The first manifestation of vitamin B-12 deficiency is usually mental disturbances. These range from abnormal mood swings, mental slowness and memory problems, through hallucinations and depression to severe psychosis."

No wonder vegans are so nasty most of the time!!! Example, that poor Max girl who thinks cows have B12 because they eat their own feces. Can anyone be more stupid than that? How very sad. Here, learn something new Max:

".. all vitamin B12 is microbially synthesized. Ruminants obtain it from the bacteria living in their specialized stomachs. The vitamin contains the element cobalt. If animals are deprived of trace amounts of cobalt, they are unable to obtain cobalamin from the bacteria, and so develop B12 deficiency. In humans, B12 deficiency is most commonly secondary to problems with absorption of the vitamin from the gut."

I'm vegan. I don't forbid anyone else anything. I make my own choice. You make yours.

Campaign away, little pot.

Ya know. Ya really can't battle the Christian with the Bible. Especially not a Christian who knows scripture as well as I do.

In Eden, before the fall, we were vegetarian. When Isaiah prophecies about the second coming, he states we will return to vegetarianism. Why wait? Let's show God we can live his way right now. By choice. Not by order.

(insert GREAT big smile)

Dear Robert: B-12 gets into your meat because cows eat their poop. B-12 gets on veggies that are fertilized with poop. But then we wash it off. So we substitute with Nutritional Yeast. You go right ahead and enjoy your roast poop.

If your god allows it, then by all means, eat it. My "god" is myself and I know I am doing the right thing. Go thump elsewhere..you are not welcome here.

Maybe because God did not permit people to eat meat until after Noah saved them from the flood.

God says in Genesis 1:29, "See, I give you every seed-bearing plant that is upon the earth, and every tree that has seed-bearing fruit, they shall be yours for food. And to all the animals on land, to all the birds of the sky, and to everything that creeps on earth, in which there is the breath of life, [I give] all the green plants for food." Nothing there about eating animals.

Perhaps some people want to get back to the state of purity described in God's original law before they were cast out of the Eden.

Not everyone is religious like you. I personally don't believe in God or any religion.

What's that going to do? Take away my vegetarian products? If "god" was so against vegetarians wouldnt HE say that in the "bible"? Sorry that I dont agree with you but thats my opinon and you or "god" can't take that away from me.

cus God also taught us to care for creation, and in America, our food suppliers are not kind/caring to animals. And some people just do it for health reasons or don't like meat. why don't you rally against something important, instead of butting into other people's beliefs, morals and lifestyle?

"Animals are God's creatures, not human property, nor utilities, nor resources, nor commodities, but precious beings in God's sight. ... Christians whose eyes are fixed on the awfulness of crucifixion are in a special position to understand the awfulness of innocent suffering. The Cross of Christ is God's absolute identification with the weak, the powerless, and the vulnerable, but most of all with unprotected, undefended, innocent suffering."

"It may be suggested by some books that it is not a sin to kill an animal, but it is written in our own hearts - more clearly than in any book - that we should take pity on animals in the same way as we do on humans."

"This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness."

They aren't forbidding *you* from eating animals. They are only choosing for themselves what they want to eat. And what someone else does or doesn't eat is none of your concern.

Are you sure "God" approves of the way the flesh you consume is raised?

I dunno, but I'm pretty sure He wouldn't be okay with torture and mistreatment of his creatures the way that factory farming methods do...

So this argument seems pretty silly to me.

Has God forbidden eating plastic? No? Then why are you forbidding it by not eating it?

There are many Gods out there, so I am assuming that you are talking about the God who is spoken of in that book called the Holy Bible. Why not talk to these people to get your answer please. They will surely be able to debate with you very easily about the topic. Have fun!

I don't think vegetarians are "forbidding" anything which is not forbidden.

If you eat meat, vegetarians couldn't care less. It's your health that's at stake, anyways.

What have vegetarians done to you, you poor little missionary?

1.if it's wrong to forbid that which is not forbidden as you say, then women should still be stoned in the streets for adultery and children should be killed for disobeying. These things are not forbidden in the bible either and yet our laws forbid them.

2. We don't all believe in your God.

3. Get out of your mothers basement and get a life.

The bible was written by men, not by some mythical man in the clouds. At the time it was written, it layed out rules for living that do not necessarily apply to today.

"When you buy a male Hebrew slave, he shall serve for six years, but in the seventh he shall go out a free person, without debt. If he comes in single, he shall go out single; if he comes in married, then his wife shall go out with him. If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall be her master’s and he shall go out alone. But if the slave declares, ‘I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out a free person’, then his master shall bring him before God. He shall be brought to the door or the doorpost; and his master shall pierce his ear with an awl; and he shall serve him for life.

When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she shall not go out as the male slaves do. If she does not please her master, who designated her for himself, then he shall let her be redeemed; he shall have no right to sell her to a foreign people, since he has dealt unfairly with her. If he designates her for his son, he shall deal with her as with a daughter. If he takes another wife to himself, he shall not diminish the food, clothing, or marital rights of the first wife. And if he does not do these three things for her, she shall go out without debt, without payment of money.

Whoever strikes father or mother shall be put to death.

Whoever kidnaps a person, whether that person has been sold or is still held in possession, shall be put to death. Whoever curses father or mother shall be put to death.

When individuals quarrel and one strikes the other with a stone or fist so that the injured party, though not dead, is confined to bed, but recovers and walks around outside with the help of a staff, then the assailant shall be free of liability, except to pay for the loss of time, and to arrange for full recovery.

When a slave-owner strikes a male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies immediately, the owner shall be punished. But if the slave survives for a day or two, there is no punishment; for the slave is the owner’s property." [Exodus, chapter 21]

***

So, why do we not allow slavery or other such disgusting human rights abuses in today's society, while all of this is allowed by "God" as written in the bible?

Your question is stupid.

Eating animals is not "forbidden", it is just unhealthy, unkind, and destructive to the planet (in the case of factory farming).

Also, not everyone believes in the same "god" you speak of. So, your question does not apply to today's world.

" People ask me about my religion. My
religion is kindness".

why do people assume everyone believes in God and therefore should follow his principles. it is also an assumption to believe that God allows meat consumption. people manipulate the bible to preach what they want. the bible says meat is for times of famine. and God knows 21st century American is far from famine. if God created all things, why would he make living, breathing, compassionate beings with central nervous systems for our consumption. why wouldn't he just make plants and humans?

Great, another retard!

The vegans believe that it is wrong to neglect the preachings of god.But they don't understand that god cannot restrict any one from doing so.All the human beings have the right to live thier life as they want.
