Is mayo considered dairy?!

Question:

Is mayo considered dairy?

I have been recently diagnosed w/a dairy and wheat allergy...is mayo safe to eat, or should I avoid it? I'm asking 'cause I'm about to go to lunch and I am craving tuna salad.

Answers:
Uh, maybe it's just me, but I always thought that eggs were included in the "dairy" category. (?) Hmmmm.
Any-who. Most mayo is made of oil and eggs, so going by my personal definition, mayo is made from dairy products. I've come across some mayo that doesn't use eggs, but it is probably not used wherever you are eating lunch. Check the recipe to be certain.

no, mayo is made from eggs and oil. no dairy in it.

it's concidered a fat it's made up of mostly eggs and oil

Go for that tuna salad no dairy in mayo

Eggs and oil makes mayonnaise so go for it!

If I assume that by Diary you mean milk, butter, cream etc then mayonnaise Should be fine (it's made of eggs), however if i were you I'd double check the ingredients because some brands add yoghurt or cream to it.

Mayo is made with eggs and oil. I would check the ingredients to be sure there are no other additives that would cause you problems.

No because it does not contain milk.

It contains eggs, oil, acid and sometimes mustard plus some spices. But still check the label if it contains anything that has to do with wheat. Cheap mayos often contain filling substitutes to get more product out of nothing.

Mayo is not a dairy product, but made from eggs and oil, but you'll want to make sure that it is real mayo in the tuna salad before you get it, and that they don't dilute the dressing with milk.

Only if milk is listed as the first three ingredients. Then you could consider it as dairy - mayonnaise usually does not have milk.

dairy is milk products. Mayo is oil and egg white I believe.

I dont think there is. But its unhealthy I would substitute mayo for honey mustard.

Mayo has eggs but, no dairy.
Enjoy your Tuna Salad

yes it's dairy as it's made from eggs and oil.
