Are there any good fish or shrimp substitutes?
Are there any good fake "fish" or "shrimp" products?? I use a lot of the Morningstar products, but I've never seen any fake fish or seafood products. Does anyone know of any? Websites (so I can see what local stores carry it) would be helpful! Thanks!

Besides the fake crab, I can not honestly say I have ever even heard of the concept of fake fish before now.
Best of luck to you. Perhaps you should create your own line, there is obviously a market for it if you want it, you are looking for it, you are never alone.
If you don't eat fish, then I'm thinking that there's not much available for you. Surimi is white fish flavored like lobster or crab, but still fish. Here's a thought though, take extra firm tofu, drain well and marinate with a mixture of Japanese Fish Sauce, ginger, soy sauce, and chili sauce. It might give you what you're looking for. Bonito flakes are dried shrimp and used in a lot of asian cooking, but are still fish related. Good luck!
You can usually find the best mock meat at the Vegetarian Asian markets. Go to Chinatown if you live in a big city.

Krab, aka imitation crab is made of fish just so you know.
Not really. However you can get some canned braided tofu, add a bit of sea salt, lemon and green nori flakes, annd you'll be amazed by the smell of sea.
Or try marinating tofu with nori flakes or sea weed combined with tempeh.
Redwood sells a vegan version of breaded "fish fingers" (Vegideli ), but I assume this is a British company, and actually nobody in our family likes them.

I've generally only seen these at Asian grocery stores like 99 Ranch Market or similar places.
I've had good vege shrimp at Chinese veggie restaurants so it's around.
Actually I just bought a pack of vegan shrimp and "tuno" (for tuna). I haven't tried them yet though. I got them at a vegan store and I can't remember the name of it right now. So yes, they are out there. The tricky part is to find them. I have been searching for vegan tortellini forever.
