Plain versus flavored yogurt?!
Plain versus flavored yogurt?
I know yogurt has beneficial bacteria to aid digestion. Does plain yogurt have more than fruit yogurt? I seem to think I've heard that before, but I don't remember for certain. Thanks for any input!
Answers:
Flavored yogurt may contain extra sugar and other fruits etc., which may either promote the growth of bacteria or inhibit because of some stabilisers added. Check for the number of bacteria present in a quantity say 100 grams.
i think fruit y is better for u
Go natural, blend a banana into the natural yoghurt, dont trust the corporations to do something you can do yourself better
plain might be better if you can stomach the taste.
According to my Biology teacher, she said that plain yogurt is better for you. That is because the fruit yogurt has so much more added sugars.
FLAVORED totally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

I prefer natural, plain yogurt. The added flavor doesn't amplify
the beneficial bacteria. If you prefer the taste, add some home-made jam.
I think it's a matter of taste....honey yoghurt is very nice.
Buy plain yougurt and add your own fruit, honey, sugar, etc.
My main concern with flavored yogurt is the artificial colors and flavors. I make homemade yogurt from fresh raw milk, and add my own jelly or jam to flavor it. Many flavored yogurts also contain gelatin, which is derived from slaughtered animals. Another good way to get the beneficial bacteria is with Kefir or probiotic liquid from the health food store.
there is a lot of sugar and sweetnss put in the fruit yogurt to make it taste better. It's not just made out of fruits but also sugar. The plain is better and to make it taste better add fruits that you like and it can be a healthy yogurt smoothie. I like strawberries.
When my son had thrush I was advised to feed him plain yogurt because the sugar in the regular yogurt could increase the problem.
Sugar does seem to get in the way and inhibit a lot of natural healing foods ability work in other instances too so I would try to go with the plain if you can handle it.
Fruit yogurt is fine and way more tasty, I love yogurt as a healthy delicious indulgence, not something plain and boring. But I only eat more natural fruit flavored ones, not disgusting flouresant gogurt or something.
Fruit yogurt is horrible for you - the "fruit" is really high in sugar. When I ate yogurt, I bought plain and added my own fruit. As far as the active cultures, I believe they are all pretty much the same. No matter the type, there has to be a certain percentage or number of active cultures in order for the company to put the "Active Culture" label on it.
Hope that helps!
if you go with strawberry and you are a vegitarian make sure it doesnt have the ingrediant carmine because it is crushed bugs
Look at it this way. Yoghurt is made from milk or soymilk (bean). Neither dairy nor any other foods should be eaten with fruits (or berries) as this will cause ill-digestion; it's a bad digestive combination. Everyone knows this when it comes to mixing fruit and milk, but when it comes to mixing fruit and yoghurt, everyone seems to ignore this basic commonsense rule of digestion. Sure, you’re not going to keel over and die, but ill-digestion non-the-less.
