Do you think human meat has ever ended up in the normal meat supply?
I was reading about Robert William Pickton,on March 10, 2004, it was revealed that human flesh may have been ground up and mixed with pork from the farm. This pork was never distributed commercially, but was handed out to friends and visitors of the farm. Another claim made is that he fed the bodies directly to his pigs.
Do you think human meat has ended up in the normal supply of meat?Like possibly a finger from someone getting injured at a slaughterhouse or something?
Is it considered cannibalism if you eat human meat second hand(through an aniaml that ate a human)?

Kishimoju-
You need to get a copy of Slaughterhouse
by Gail Eisenitz. The book gives first hand
accounts by U.S.D.A. inspectors and workers
as to how relaxed and negligent meat inspection
is.
V&P- I'm pretty sure based on what I've read from
several books that workers lose limbs and digits
and sometimes defecate on slaughterhouse floors.
The lines are never stopped when this happens.
It's only natural that all types of things get mixed
in with meat when incidents like this occur.
Because of the dies, food coloring and chlorine
no one ever knows the difference.
I doubt it. I'd be more worried about the additives, hormones, and other crap they put in the meat. When buying meat and eggs, I try to buy organic, grain-fed, cage free, etc whenever possible.
No, I am sure the same processing plants that keep so clean that we are never at risk for e coli in our meats also go through extreme measures to remove any fingertips, etc., that may fall into our ground beef or sausage. Are you kidding?
Hehe, get yourself a copy of Upton Sinclair's *The Jungle.* I haven't eaten sausage since.
Yes, but no to cannibalism. Any 'ism' is a practice, not a single event by accident, so it wouldn't count.
I would try it if it was available. Why not, cannibalism has been part of human culture for a lot longer than it has been taboo.
Yes back in 1918 shortly after WWI in Germany the Butcher of Hannover- Fritz Haarmann sold meat from the 28 young boys and men he killed from Sept 1918-June 14,1924 ranging in ages from 10 to 20 due to Germany's economic chaos following their defeat in WWI.He advertised it as fresh meat.
Pretty disgusting huh? but true.
In regards to your question about eating human meat through an animal that might have consumed it: it is a fact that carnivores generally don't eat carnivores. The only exeption might be indeed humans and pigs that eat practically everything. This might be one of the reasons why porc is not consumed in some religions. We might be much closer related to the pig than to the ape. :P
You call the meat supply "normal" to begin with? Animals for food are fed the organ meats and brains of their dead ancestors, grains laced with pesticide, kept in deplorable conditions, pumped full of growth hormones and steroids, then, because the meat is so unsanitary and infected with bacteria and fecal matter, the meat is injected with antimicrobial chemicals and enhancers to protect flavor. If human meat ended up in, I dont think it would matter....it cant get much worse than it already is.
It happens a lot but you dont hear about it too often cuz they dont want peeple to know thay just ate some guy arm or whatever. I been to one of those big slaughterhouses cuz we own a ranch. I seen how many of those peeple are missing fingers and stuff. One guy I talked to there said when he lost his finger on a steak line they kept the machines going! somebody did grab his finger but they didn't wash all his blood of the machines or steaks that his blood got on. it's gross there! it stinks bad when their working and theres gross stuff everywhere.
