Have you noticed that lunchables are healthier these days?
Answers:
Are there any that are vegetarian or vegan? Aren't they made by the anti-veggie company Hormel?
I have in the past seen some similar products made by veggie friendly company's. Could that be what you're referring to?
Edit:
Ok, I was incorrect. They were made by Oscar Mayer which is now owned by Kraft. I still can't find any items by them that are suitable for vegetarians (let alone vegans). The closest I found was a cheese pizza one but there are several animal derived ingredients present in that product. It's very high in fats, salt and sugars so I couldn't call that healthy! Considering the risks of Listeria, Salmonella or E.coli contamination in this one and the risks of exposing children to prions in the meat laden ones I don't see where any of them are even close to being healthy products and I certainly don't see why a vegetarian or vegan would want to consider inflicting them on children.
No, but they used to make me gag. That meat and cheese were vile.
No, I havent. They still have full sugar desserts and juices in them. They should be putting cutting down on the sugar and the salt content in the meats they carry in them.
Yes. I also noticed they are overpriced as well.
I still prefer to make my son a healthy lunch rather than buy the lunchables..full of hydronated fats and tastes nasty.
Healthier? They are loaded with toxic crap. Read the ingredients. Can you pronounce all of them or identify where they came from. I wouldnt eat a lunchable if I was starving.....ewww
No, ever since I read about how bad for you they are I never check again to see if they had gotten healthier. With all the sodium in those things...yuck. Besides how do lunchables even fill kids up these days its like 2 crackers w/ half a slice of cheese and ham.
How is this? Full fat cheese and processed "meat". They are not vegetarian either.
Um no...I never even look at them. Who could call some overprocessed lunch meat, cheese, crackers, juice box, and candy a lunch? Oh...maybe the third grader those things were made for.
No, they are really not. Still as bad for everyone as ever.
i'm a veggeterian since 6th grade now 11th and i like the cheese pizza and nacho lunchables thats it and no they don't make you full and i even eat 2 when i get them just answering another persons question.
No, they're still as nasty as always...you can make your own "lunchables" cheaper and healthier.
Yes, actually, I did notice that lunchables are healthier. It seems that they've really tried to bring down sodium and fat levels from them. I think I've seen ads that talk about their "improved nutrition." That's a good thing. My kids love Lunchables and now, at least I can feel a little better about them.
No idea where you live, but here in Europe and even here in the UK (with the biggest obesity of all European countries), people start to care what they feed to their kids. Unfortunately not all of them yet, but a big campaign changed school lunch from fatty and yuckie into healthy food with generous servings of fresh fruit and salads. Time to ban snack food adverts anyway. Giving your child a colourful expensive package of crap, fat, salt and carbs should actually not be the aim of any parent or guardian. So, my answer to your question: no, I haven't noticed that and apart from not buying junk, all I can see is that luncheables are nothing but an unhealthy, well marketed product. And, how hard is it to prepare a healthy lunch box at home?
