What is braised tofu?
The other day I bought two cans of braised tofu in my local health shop, and it was extremely delicious. I was wondering if I could make it myself at home. Does anyone know how?
Answers:
Solid bean curd that has been cooked with a liquid in an oven. Sear the tofu first, and then use veggie broth for the braising liquid in the oven.
TOFU THAT IS BRAISED
I have had it at the Vietnam Kitchen near me. It is pan-seared quickly, which keeps the inside tender, but gives the outside a semi crispy, carmalized surface, like sauted chicken breast. It's delicious.
