What is tempeh?
Answers:
Max Marie got it right but missed that it's got loads of natural B12 in it and eating it can also result in your intestines generating enough B12 so that supplementation is unneeded! Tempeh doesn't have to be soy based either, the fungus will grow just fine on most any legume and/or grain!
Tempeh is a somewhat meatlike substance made from cultured soybeans. It is used in dishes like barbeque, and has a rather strong taste compared to tofu.
Mmmmm, tempeh is delicious!
Tempeh is basically a cake (as in brick, not as in chocolate) made from fermented soy beans. It is heavy and makes for great stir fry or sandwhiches.
I like to marinate tempeh in Soy Vay then grill it.
