Why are you vegan and not vegetarian?
I have for the past 6 months became a vegetarian, because of culinary school (after quitting) and, I have found out about there are peopel called Vegans, who dont' eat certain foods like: cheese, milk, eggs, and e.t.c, What is wrong with those products?
Answers:
go to milksucks.com and see just how disgusting it all is. Here's a sample:
"One culprit causing the hundreds of millions of pus cells in every liter of milk may be “bovine growth hormone,” the Monsanto chemical company’s growth hormone marketed as Posilac. Posilac is now widely used by dairy farmers to increase the amount of milk that their already overburdened cows produce. Because cows are not built to produce this much milk, they are prone to a painful udder infection called mastitis. When they are milked, pus and bacteria from the infection flow right along with the milk. The journal Nature reported that Posilac increases somatic cells―pus―in the milk by a whopping 19 percent! Researchers estimate that an ordinary glass of milk contains between one and seven drops of pus. This isn’t just disgusting―it can also be dangerous. Pus can contain paratuberculosis bacteria, which are believed to cause Crohn’s disease in human beings. "
i am the furthest thing from a vegan but i do have your answer. my grandma is a vegan and they do not eat these products because it is derived from a animal and they do not par take of any part of an animal. they believe that even products like cheese and milk is inhumane to eat
I am also a vegetarian and am not a vegan. Many vegans choose to be vegan because of animal rights. Animal products (cheese, milk, eggs, etc) even though not actual meat, still come from the animals that are being abused in the farms. Vegans don't want to support any part of that so therefore stop eating or wearing anything to do with it. Some dairy farms give so many hormones and antibiotics to chickens and cows that even the products such as cheese, milk, and eggs are going to harmful to humans. Cheese, milk, and eggs also are usually all loaded with saturated fats and eggs have cholesterol. I don't consume milk. Instead, I consume rice milk. I have really cute down on cheese, and I only eat eggs if they are used in a dish.
Cheese, for some is because it is from an animal, and for others they know that cow milk can clog up your sinuses. Milk is bad becasue often they can contain cow puss (Gross I know) and they sometimes feed the cows bit of other animals. Meat is bad also, becasue farmers don't drain all of the blood in it, and if that blood gets stuck in your stomach it will rot. (Nasty, huh?) The only way you can eat meat and not get it with the blood, is if you have drained the blood properly and the way to do that is to cut the animal in the neck, because all the major blood comes that way. There are other dietary laws, thought. Email me if you want.
They rape cows for milk
they take away chickens babies or possible babies for eggs
honey takes away bee life which kills bird which kill other things
Also Veganism is a political movment to stop animal cruelty hense the boycotting of animal products
it is becasue they are made from animals my frined is like that
Halle is so misinformed its crazy, no one is raping the cows for milk ..maybe some wierd farmer for fun ..but that about it for cow rape.Cows enjoy being milked because full mammary gland ..like full bladders want ot release that pressure asap. Bees are not killed for honey..they are smoked into a stupor ..ones that die are the slow ones the birds get. Biirds arent endanged because of honey ..its lack of habitat and pesticides. Chickens lay eggs everyday all over your yard..they only lay fertile eggs in their nests..3 eggs in a nest a week compared to the 29 they laid in the grass ..plenty of eggs for all and nobdy dies.
cheese contains meat (stomach lineings of the cow)
milk is bad for human consumsion
eggs is baby chicken (i don't care about the it's not fertlizied)
eggs is baby chicken
vegans are cool
The majority of everything slaughtered is female.
They use cruel unnatural methods to arrive at
eggs and dairy. Basically they make whores
and slaves out of chickens and cows to get
the by-products and then make hamburger
or Mcnuggets out of them. The dairy being
consumed by humans is being robbed from
calves in order to make them iron deficient
so their muscle will never fully develop and
harden. This is what makes veal veal.
Leather and wool are byproducts of
slaughter.
Honey comes from a bees abdomen.
There's no way to clean it.
Some of the bees die when they
are smoked out of the hive.
Now, why do you think human's naturally produce milk for youngsters? They produce it because it is so nutritious and their youngsters can live off it for the first period of their life. Why would they purposely make a food that was unhealthy?
Yes, I know cow's milk is different, but it isn't very. It has all the same nutrients, vitamins and minerals as human's, just different proportions, and thus it isn't inherently any unhealthier than human's. The anti-milk brigade really contradict themselves on this when claiming cow's milk is bad because it is so similar to human's, and if they tried to denounce breast milk they really wouldn't have a leg to stand on.
Soy milk is not designed for babies to drink by nature, whereas whole milk is (albeit calves). It is also useful throughout childhood because, while it isn't needed per se beyond infancy, people still need the nutrients it contains throughout life, and it is an excellent source.
To quote wikipedia
"Milk began containing differing amounts of fat during the 1950s. A serving (1 cup or 250 ml) of 2%-fat milk contains 285 mg of calcium, which represents 22% to 29% of the daily recommended intake (DRI) of calcium for an adult. Depending on the age, 8 grams of protein, and a number of other nutrients (either naturally or through fortification):
Vitamins D and K are essential for bone health.
Iodine is a mineral essential for thyroid function.
Vitamin B12 and riboflavin are necessary for cardiovascular health and energy production.
Biotin and pantothenic acid are B vitamins important for energy production.
Vitamin A is critical for immune function.
Potassium and magnesium are for cardiovascular health.
Selenium is a cancer-preventive trace mineral.
Thiamine is a B-vitamin important for cognitive function, especially memory
Conjugated linoleic acid is a beneficial fatty acid that inhibits several types of cancer in mice, it has been shown to kill human skin cancer, colorectal cancer and breast cancer cells in vitro studies, and may help lower cholesterol and prevent atherosclerosis; only available in milk from grass-fed cows.
Studies show possible links between low-fat milk consumption and reduced risk of arterial hypertension, coronary heart disease, and obesity. Overweight individuals who drink milk may benefit from decreased risk of insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes."
Yes, cows never meat for us to drink their milk, but then again they never meant for us to eat their meat. Humans have drunk milk into adulthood for so long that we have adapted to it. Most mammals become lactose intollerant when they reach adolsence, but most humans no longer do, particularly in areas where dairy products are usually consumed most like Europe and America, and this is a direct result of us evolving over the last few thousand years.
As such, it is pretty natural to us.
Well, vist this site it talls it all! http://www.peta.org
