You are in luck, my veg*n friend! My FAVORITE resource for Eastern Mass/Boston Area restauraunts that cater to vegetarians and vegans is VeganBoston.com. It has listings that include a summary and review of veg*an menue items along with the price range and other insider tidbits. Most listings link to each restaurant's website where you can sometimes view menus and ingredients. Here is the link to the Boston page (which includes Brighton) -

Review: Formerly known as Angora Café Too!, this Mediterranean counter service café offers several vegan roll-ups including the fresh veggie, grilled veggie, hummus, and falafel. Their breakfast smoothies and coffee drinks can be made with soymilk instead of cow’s milk. Those looking for a healthy snack can order one of their fresh salads, and those with a healthful dessert on the mind can partake in their delicious selection of non-dairy fruit sorbets. Delivery is available with a minimum $7 order, for an additional fee of $1.50. Orders can be placed online through Foolder.com.

Boloco

Review: Formerly known as The Wrap, Boloco serves up a variety of burritos that run from basic (cheese, beans, rice,) to inventive (Asian slaw, peanut sauce, cucumbers). All burritos are available with your choice of chicken, steak, or tofu (horary for tofu!). The Barbecue, Bangkok, and Teriyaki burritos are all vegan, and a few others can easily made so vegan. Everything is made to order, so your food won’t be sad and soggy. Not bad for a chain restaurant.

Espresso Royale Caffe
2201 Commonwealth Avenue
Brighton, MA 02135
Website: www.espressoroyale.com
Price Range: $
My Rating: *****
Review: This is their Boston College location, near the last stop on the Green Line’s B train. My friend Josh tipped me off that this chain (with 4 locations in Boston) serves tofu cream cheese. With their bagel and sandwich menu by Bagel Rising, vegans have a choice of tofu spreads, and vegetarian sandwiches that can easily be made vegan. Also try their Joy of Soy bagel sandwich, which is vegan. My friends Colin and Lisa also let me know that Espresso Royale serves vegan baked goods. On my last visit to the Symphony location they had vegan cookies, carrot cake, and muffins. Free Wi-Fi access.

As for vegan pizza - here's the place! It's in Allston...
TJ Scallywaggles *Exclusively Vegan*

Allston, MA 02314
Tel: 617-787-9884
Website: n/a
Hours: Mon-Sun 11am-Midnight
Price Range: $$
My Rating: *****
Review: Formerly an ‘ordinary’ pizza joint, TJ’s introduced a menu of 100% vegan options in 2004. In June 2006, it went ALL VEGAN! Patrons can order pizza, calzones, subs, pasta dinners, or roll-ups similar to what you might find in any other pizza place, but without the meat or dairy! My favorite is the ‘Chicken’ Parm Sub with vegan cheese. They also now offer a full vegan dessert menu with several different kinds of “cheese” cake. Delivery is available.
