I was weirded out my this question until i noticed the "" marks. OH K. I guess you can just fry tofu in the same way:)

If healthier use olive oil and bat it with flour
of regular use Crisco and flour as also.

This is an Indonesian recipe (if you like fried chicken that is):-

Whatever chicken parts

About 1 -2 cm ginger (depends on chicken parts)
2 cloves garlic
1 tsp fennel seeds
1 tsp coriander seeds
1 tbsp tumeric powder
salt to taste
enough oil for frying

Method

Wash chicken parts clean.Place in a large bowl.

Lightly fry coriander & fennel seeds in a pan without oil till fragrant.Pound coriander & fennel seeds, ginger, garlic (with mortar & pestler) till finely mixed.

Put in the bowl of chicken parts.Add a little salt and tumeric powder.Rub in and mix well.
(Cover bowl with saran wrap and leave aside for spices to marinate chicken well for about 20 mins).
Drain excess water later.

Meanwhile heat enough oil in a wok/frying pan.
When oil is hot, gently place chicken in wok.Fry till golden brown.Serve hot with ketchup or chilli sauce.

Good luck & enjoy!

Sorry didn't notice the "Mock meat"....
You can use beancurd if you're vegetarian....

This is also an Indonesian dish using hard beancurd & beansprouts:

2 large beancurd (about 400gm - 450gm)
1/2 cup beansprouts,roots plucked off
a handful of coriander leaves,shredded
6 shallots,(pounded till fine)
5 cloves garlic,(pounded till fine)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp chilli powder(or flakes)
2 eggs,lightly beaten
3 tbsp plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 cups vegetable oil

METHOD

Stir fry garlic & shallots in 3 tbsps oil till lightly golden.Turn heat off.
Mash beancurd & add salt, coriander powder, chilli powder/flakes,eggs,plain flour, baking powder and the fried shallots and garlic. When beancurd is evenly mashed, add beansprouts and mix well.
Heat the remaining oil in a wok.Shape the beancurd mixture into small patties and put gently into oil.
Deep fry for about 1 - 2 mins.Turn the patties side to side and deep fry for a few minutes till golden brown.Serve warm with ketchup or chilli sauce.

Enjoy! :)

add spices to raw drumsticks then roll in flour and then in beaten

baked potato and rice

I have a truly yummy fried "chicken" recipe that you can make out of extra firm tofu. It goes like this: Buy a large package of extra-firm tofu. Drain the water and dry the tofu with paper towels. Set aside. Make a chicken flavor vegan marinade: Add 1/4 cup chicken-flavor vegan powder to 1 cup unflavored soymilk. Add a pinch of sage, a pinch of parsley and a dash of black pepper. Set aside in a 2 quart or larger glass bowl. Now cut the dried tofu into strips that are approximate 3 inches long by 1/2 inch thick. Try to cut the tofu to mimic chicken tenders. Now carefully add the cut tofu strips to the marinade. Cover this glass bowl with plastic wrap. Refrigerate at least 2 hours, preferably overnight for the tofu to incorporate the "chicken" flavor.

When you are ready for your fried "chicken", take the marinated tofu strips and place upon paper towels on a large plate, each strip by itself...none overlapping. Set aside. Keep the marinade, too and set it aside. (You can make a gravy out of the remaining marinade, if you like to spoon over the strips. Cook the marinade in a saucepan. In a coffee cup, mix 2 tablespoons cornstarch with 1/4 cup unflavored soymilk. When the marinade is hot in the saucepan, slowly add the cornstarch-soymilk liquid. Stir constantly with a whisk until the mixture forms a lovely, lump-free gravy. Set this aside and keep warm for when you are ready to serve your fried "chicken"). On another large plate sprinkle unbleached white flour to a thickness of 1/8 inch. Add a small sprinkling of black pepper and sage to the flour. Place the tofu strips in the flour. Set aside. Now add enough canola oil to a large skillet to cover the bottom and allow enough oil for the strips to fry. Slowly start heating this oil on low to medium heat. Turn the strips over in the flour so all sides are covered.

When the oil is hot but not bubbly...a drop of water will skim the surface, carefully add the strips. Be careful as some of the oil may "spit"...be careful of burns! Arrange the strips so that they aren't too close together and have plenty of room to nicely cook.

After about 45 seconds to one minute, carefully turn over one strip to see if it is golden brown. This is the optimal color for lovely fried "chicken". When the sides are golden brown, turn over all of the strips so that every strip can cook uniformly to a lovely, crispy golden brown.

When all strips are fried completely golden brown, place them all on a large platter covered by paper towels. Serve these delicious strips with the gravy, smashed potatoes, green beans with soy bacon and some whole wheat roll. For dessert? A wonderful, vegan apple pie, of course!
