How many bananas is it safe too eat in a day?!

Question:

How many bananas is it safe too eat in a day?

Answers:
Well, if you're talking about potassium poisoning or whatever, I was just discussing it a week or so ago. It would seem that you have to eat more bananas than you could in one day to feel the effects of potassium poisoning. I've eaten three (possibly more- it was also an ingredient in something!) in a day, and been what seemed to me completely fine! However, otherwise nutritionally, I'd look at the other answerers- they seem to know a bit more than I do.

EDIT: I thought that this question was interested, so I looked up some more. Bananas contain 358 mg potassium each, which is 8% of your daily value, so yeah, eating a lot of them shouldn't be a big deal. However if you take potassium supplements or a medecine containing potassium, or if you have certain diseases, doctors warn you to not eat many bananas.

I suppose same answer, anything in xs is poor. i would guess about 4-6. spread out.

u like big bananas, who doesn't!

i don't think it is a question of safety!

but they are high in cals and sat fat so if you eat a lot you will put on weight!

Bananas are good for you but like all things it is moderation that counts. Bear in mind that they are high in sugar and if you are not using energy then you could at best put on weight and at worst be unmanageable by your body produced insulin and then you could be classed as diabetic. I eat one a day when only fairly active and if walking or other exercise then I will have two. 3 for normal healthy people each day would be OK but try to burn it off.

haha banannas have no side effects

Bananas give you 17% of your Daily Value of Vitamin C, an antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals (harmful waste products) in your body and helps produce collagen, the building block of the connective tissues such as tendons and cartilage that keep your knees strong. And the banana's magnesium plays a role in energy transport and is involved in the synthesis of protein, which helps you recover from fatigue.

Getting plenty of fiber in your diet is important for good health. Fiber has important benefits including reducing cholesterol, improving blood sugar control, and lowering risk of heart disease. It has a positive effect on the digestive system by helping to maintain regularity and reduce risk of diverticulitis and hernias.

Bananas, like most fiber, tend to help both diarrhea and constipation. Some people cannot take fiber supplements every day for more than a few weeks, but anyone can eat several bananas a day for many years with no problem. Two bananas a day (or one with every large meal) offers optimal GI effect (a slippery, soft stool with no mess). What you spend on bananas you will save on toilet paper.

Eat plenty of them. They're goooood. Just don't let your love of bananas interfere with eating a balanced variety of food, k?

they say to not eat more than one a day, because they are high in potassium and too much potassium can cause issues.

It bust be a fair amount , they dont seem to do monkeys
