Does anybody have a vegan recipe for Frosting?!?!

Question:

Does anybody have a vegan recipe for Frosting?!?

My 16th birthdays tomorrow and I'm vegan. So i already have a recipe for a vegan chocolate cake but I'm looking for a good one for frosting? Can anyone help? Thank you!

This is from Vegan with a Vengeance by Isa Chandra Moskowitz...I've made it, it's delicious. This is a great cookbook, especially for desserts and breakfast foods. She has a cupcake book too, I'm sure it has plenty more delicious frostings in it. This recipe should make enough frosting to frost 2 8-inch round cakes and then have some leftover to decorate it...if you don't need that much, then you can halve the recipe.

Chocolate Ganache-y Frosting

3/4 cup soy creamer (if not available, soy milk is fine)
6 tablespoons nonhydrogenated margarine
10 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
(all vegan ones, of course)

In a saucepan over medium heat, bring the soy creamer to a low boil. Add the margarine and melt, turn off the heat, and stir in chocolate chips until smooth. Let sit for at least 1 hour. It should still have a pourable consistency at this point. If you want a spreadable consistency then refrigerate for an hour. (If you refrigerate it for more than a few hours, it sets too much to spread easily, so you will need to reheat it, then let it sit at room temperature before using.)

sugar and flour

why not just do the same thing for any other frosting? just used condensed milk

2 cups powdered sugar
3 tbl vegetable-based margarine
1 tbl lukewarm water
1 tsp vanilla

Mix together well in a mixer or by hand. Add more water 1 tsp at a time if the icing is too stiff. Add powdered sugar 1 tbl at a time if you get it too thin.

For chocolate frosting, decrease powdered sugar by 1/4 cup and add 1/4 cup cocoa powder, and use the rest of the recipe as it stands.

If this doesn't make enough frosting, make a second recipe or half-recipe to add to it. For fun, make a half-recipe of chocolate frosting and a half-recipe of vanilla. Flavor the vanilla half with mint and lightly swirl the two frostings together.

Can vegans have pudding mix without the milk and frozen whipped topping? I don't know what's in those really. If you can have them, mix 1 small box instant pudding mix with one regular container of frozen whipped topping (a.k.a. Cool-Whip) and beat well. Flavor and color as desired. This one's great for folks with sugar limits, as you can get sugar-free versions of both ingredients.
