Who really cares anyway?!
Who really cares anyway?
i dont try to make vegetarians eat meat or even offer up crude comments to make them feel inadequate about their choice of food. i think that vegetarians shouldnt try to make me believe that my omnivoristic diet is the cause and result of unethical treatment of animals. i love animals. i just happen to eat the ones that taste good to me, along with a generous supply of vegetables and fruits. apparently i care enough to get somewhat offended by some of the comments ive read tonight. i said before and ill say again, eat what you want and ill eat what i want. have a nice day

Well said. I dont like how many people claim that meat eaters are the reason for global warming, and the whole reason there is animal cruelty and other things. I am completely aware of their views and I respect them. I am fully aware of global warming, slaughter houses, KFC, and many other contributers to the meat industry and what they do. I have even seen their videos. The only thing is, many people here have comments regarding how un-educated we are, when really they dont take the time to view the point of views of us. It is also offending how many tell us how we dont care about animals, animal rights, or the environment, when really, me for example, I dont wear fur or leather or whool, I only eat organic foods, and I recycle! lol. I am not seperating myself from the crowd either because I know many vegetarians would say "well, eating meat is the same as wearing fur, whool, leather, or even your own dog! Would you eat a cat, baby human, or a lizard? How about a goat? I didnt think so?". Most of us know exactly what we are doing when we eat meat, it is a desicion made because sadly, that pestecide injected cow or chicken was killed for that burger or popcorn chicken bucket, but people still choose to eat it. It is already dead. I am totally against animal farms, hunting for game, and killing animals for unreasonable and un necessary reasons. BUT, meat has been necessary for most people to survive, before vitamins and supplements, thats how people got neutrition! Sad, but true! But now, thats not how it is! I also think that us humans have indeed over-used our welcome here on earth by abusing our right to our rescources. We shouldnt be killing animals in masses, but if we do need meat, we should use every part of the animal and respect its past. Everyone knows inside that the world WILL NEVER stop using animal products. Just like there will never be world peace, no matter how hard I pray. There is always an angel and a devil; light and dark; your point of view and the other's point of view. There is nothing that we can do about it but do what we think is right. With that being said, vegetarians and vegans shouldnt try to convert people because that will only get them ticked off. I admit to eating chicken, organic of course, although many think that doesnt make a diffrence, It has a small one. And I know we are posting on the "vegetarian and vegan" boards, I just wanted to answer this question and make my point. I hope to one day be a vegetarian again, but for right now, I am enjoying my quiet, simple lifestyle. And eating the occational ham sandwitch just happens to be a part of it. No hard feelings. Best Wishes and have a nice day.?
i agree.
yeah...
sounds familiar. but whats ur question? who cares...?
no, I dont really
I'm with ya.
Well said

wow......
Thank you for respecting our choice not to eat meat, for whatever reasons we may have. If you choose to eat meat, that's your business, and you won't hear a word from me about it.
Unfortunately, we get a lot of people in this forum who harass and belittle us. After awhile, I admit that I tend to get defensive when someone constantly attacks me for making a personal decision not to eat meat. It's not right, but it's hard to avoid sometimes.
I respect your right to make your own decision based on what's best for you. Thank you for returning that same respect.
That's your choice, and you're entitled to your opinion of course. But I sense some contradiction here in your statement. You say you love animals, but then you'll also eat them because some of them taste good. Have you ever visited a commercial slaughter house? The horrendous hellish atmosphere of pain and suffering that goes on there is unbearable for any human being to witness. The disgusting smells, the nightmarish sights, the dreadful screams, how horrible! If your best friend the dog, who you love so much, happens also to be very tasty when cooked. You wouldn’t mind killing it mercilessly, even though it will protest like anything to protect itself? Well?

if someone tried to make you believe that 2 and 2 is four, would you believe them?
diets containing meat ARE the cause a result of at least some of the unethical treatment of animals (other causes would be testing for medicines, vivisection, furs, etc etc).
it's not like we're trying to stuff your head full of lies. i am not an evagenlistic vegan, but if you ask for someones reasons for being a vegetarian/vegan and they GIVE them to you, and they're based on true facts (statistics about animal cruelty/environmental impact of the animal industry), you really can't get upset...
many vegetarians/vegans truly love ALL animals and dont want them to be subjected to the lives that they live, and feel helpless when they see everyone around them partaking in lifestyles that contribute to the very thing they are trying to stop. sometimes this may seem like they're attacking you...
we really are doing what we think is best for the planet (and since the planet is our life source... the best for us!)
How on earth can you love animals and yet eat them? That violates some kind of space-time continuum. It challenges everything that Newton and Einstein said.
Added note: Apparently someone doesn't understand sarcasm.
yea i would agree i mean its everyones personal choice what they want to eat so.. no one should feel guilty because of what they want!
Yeah vegetarians need to quit being Nazi's. I worked for a vegetarian magazine and I wasn't a vegetarian. They told me I couldn't bring meat into the office. I was okay with that but they were always asking me when I was going to become vegetarian. haha. I totally understand where your coming from. I feel the same way.
Meat eaters today exemplify the bulk of people today. Most cook books, almost all restaurants cater to their tastes and preferences, and they will probably tell you that few vegetarians are their customers.
Supermarkets cater to meat eaters.
You are obviously in the majority and need no defense from the few people with discrimination enough to live on a level where their religion forbids the eating of other creatures.
Of course it is better if they do not exert pressure upon you to become vegetarian when you have indicated no motivation in doing so.
I don't really care.
Have a nice day.
