As long as we're growing produce near enough to factory farms that our veggies are subject to "manuer lagoon run-off" there is a danger.
Yes, even the "ready to eat" bagged stuff should be washed.
Washing doesn't mean rinse with just water. You're safer with organic produce, but conventional produce is dowsed in stuff that's meant to stay on even in the rain.
Use Fit or Veggie Wash or any such product.
