I've been a vegetarian for about three years and am going to go vegan.?!

Question:

I've been a vegetarian for about three years and am going to go vegan.?

I already drink soy milk and eat things like soy hotdogs insted of meat. I also don't eat cheese made with real dairy.
Is there anything else I should cut-out?
Or products to evoid?

Answers:
Watch out for hidden ingredients like gelatin, whey, casein, stearic acid, lactose, and avoid anything hydrogenated. Good for you. Vegan is the best route to go and your transition will be easy. Always read ingredient labels, as you will be surprised. I never knew that some chips have dairy derivatives in it. I never knew that taco seasonings did too. Go to www.peta.org and search for "hidden ingredients". You will get a list.

i thought vegan and vegetarian were the same thing...

do you really feel you are healthier than before?

I'd also cut out surgar. Use herbal sweetners such as stevia extract.

Vegans tend to be 'stricter' in the sense many do not even use/wear animal products while some/most vegetarians will still wear leather shoes and jackets etc. Also, vegans often won't eat anything that deals with not even animals..but any living being. Such as...many won't eat honey because you have to constrict and keep bees. And surgar is bleached with animal bone so vegans dont eat/avoid white surgar, but a vegetarian may not care or it doesn't bother them to eat white surgar. I'm not a vegan or vegetarian, I"m a pesco-vegetarian (I still eat seafood minus shell fish, but avoid dairy and dont drink milk) but really all of it is an individual thing and lables can be misleading. It depends on the individuals comfort zone.

I think we need a chicken in every pot and more peanutbutter and banana sandmuches'.

Thang ya very much.............

Just stay away from really processed foods.

don't eat eggs and honey too
