Why some papayas do not have seeds in them?!

Question:

Why some papayas do not have seeds in them?

Answers:
if you buy young papayas, that would explain the absence of seeds, like young zuchinni-- or you may have stumbled nto a seedless variety

There are different varieties of papaya, but the only difference I've heard of is color. I know one is salmon pink and another is yellow, but I've never heard of a seedless papaya. I couldn't tell you more, since I never dabble into foods I don't really like.
